I just uploaded the whole album film that accompanies my new record YEEHAW JUNCTION to my YouTube channel.

My beautiful girlfriend @brennankai shot the whole thing over the course of a few days in January of this year. In the film we visit Yeehaw Junction (thanks @kent.majic.robo for the archival Desert Inn clips), hit a few honky tonks, and end up at the beach… surfing, of course. We used an old circa 1999 dad cam that recorded on VHS-C tapes (thanks @cursebailey for the loan and @60_minutes_photo for the conversion). And at the end, my good buddy @jj.margaritondo put it all together.

The premiere at the @surfingfloridamuseum was epic, and now it’s live for anyone and everyone. Link in bio. As always, thanks for the support!

Had a great Fourth of July this year surfing in the @hotdogzonastix vintage log contest in Cape Canaveral. Met some cool people, rode some old longboards, made it to the final and walked away with some cash. Thanks to Dennis at @core_surf for putting it on year after year. As they say, “the waves are small, the boards are heavy and the competition is tough.”

Emerging from the swamps of Loxahatchee, Brett Staska’s “coastal cowboy” sound is the geographical product of being a landlocked surfer. One part honky-tonk jukebox, one part vintage single fin longboard. Bringing together two unlikely genres (country and surf music), Staska has been able to blend the two seamlessly, leading his own path into previously uncharted musical territory.
