POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

A long journey has come to an end. I am absolutely thrilled to announce my commitment to Heidelberg University to continue my academic and athletic careers in basketball and in track & field. After almost 20 visits and 50+ phone calls, I ended up at the very first school I ever stepped foot on.
Thank you to both coaching staffs at Heidelberg for giving me this opportunity to do what I love for another four years and for your straightforwardness and support during this decision.
I also cannot thank my parents and brother enough for all of their love and dedication to me and my dreams over the past eighteen years of my life. I can never express my gratitude in any way that would sufficiently repay them.
Thank you to Coach Leichty, Coach Chaffin, and Coach Lauck, as well as their respective coaching staffs, for all they’ve done to make me the athlete I am today.
Thank you to my teammates, friends, family, and physical therapists for all you do and for your unwavering support over these past four years of high school athletics.
It has not been easy, but I wouldn’t trade away any experience, as they have all strengthened me either mentally or physically.
Can’t wait to see what is in store for these next four!

Having the opportunity to represent The Big Orange and the West Liberty-Salem track and field teams at the highest level our state has to offer has always been my biggest dream. Being born into the schools storied running program is undoubtedly the biggest blessing in my life. I have no shortage of great memories from the past eighteen years that I will treasure forever made possible by awesome coaches, athletes and supporters. The roots of this program run extremely deep.
As this chapter comes to a close, I cannot help but feel as if a piece of me is missing that I can never get back. I truly hope that somewhere along the line, my teammates and I fostered a love for the game in someone, somewhere. And I hope that that kid accomplishes more than we ever did for this program and community. I hope aspiring student-athletes look up to us and see a group who always did things the right way and see a brotherhood with bonds that are unbreakable and formed through hard work and sacrifice, day in and day out. Although it is not a true goodbye because we will always be around, things will never feel the same as they once did when we were running with our community across our chests.
Thank you WL-S for fostering the growth of athletes and for providing us with the tools to handle the big moments. I am forever grateful for this community and all of the spectacular people that make this town so special. 🍊🧡🖤🐅 taken in West Liberty, Ohio by @brevinlouden
