A beach cider to wash down the ham, cheese and chip buttie #makingthemostofthepublicholiday Pippa Fruit Cru Boysenberry and Blackcurrant Cider (5% abv) by @garageproject Taste: definitely a cru of fruit - the blackcurrant and boysenberry blend really well into a delicious medley. Ultimately the blackcurrant dominates slightly but that is more than ok Grade: 7 Beer Bellies Pour: discreetly as I'm drinking on a alcohol banned beach Colour: I forgot my glass but imagine it's a delightful berry red Smell: Boysenberry, Blackcurrant and fermenting apples #beachcider #craftcider #nzcider #nzcraftbeer by @brewjaynz
Dreamcast West Coast IPA (6.5% abv) by @bravebrewingco Its been a while since I have sat at home and had a brew (there are a number of reasons for that), but this little beauty from Brave was a superb one to flip the lid off and enjoy - delicious and very sessionable! Taste: a great mix of tropical fruit and resin Grade: Beer Bellies Pour: nice and easy with a dusting of foam Colour: golden yellow Smell: mango and other tropical fruits #craftbeer #craftbeernz #nzcraftbeer #nzbeer #ilovebeer by @brewjaynz
A visit on the way to the airport to @doublevisionbrewing in Miramar post @beervananz for a classic Naughty Hopper - Double IPA 8.9% The brewery was busy with locals coming and going #babyandstrollerfriendly The beer itself - crisp, clean, and hints if resinalong with stonefruit - apricot by @brewjaynz
How many glasses get handed out @beervananz ? And what's the recycle rate? Starting off a fun session with @ms_guide_to_cider by collecting our glass So worth paying to come in early As I meant I could get to the front of the queue to try this wee drop... @yellow.monkey.brewing Barrel Aged Imperial IPA 9.5%* Delicious! you definetly get the barrel coming through, bourbon, all spice, notes of resin after taste @neckofthewoodsnz Noctis Chocolate Liquorice Milk Stout Smelled of dutch liquorice, sweet, definitely liquorice taste, light on the mouth feels, one of the more unexpected drops intried I became a little obsessed with these smoothie sours from @onedropbrewingco Ride or die cream smoothie sour* Omg so delicious, banana smoothie just yum! Liked the tingle of bubbles on the tongue Double take Imperial Cream Sour 10% (Served Taster only) yum but not as yum as ride and die, good boysenberry taste Aunties Pudding 6.5% smoothie pastry sour  Tasted like pina colada, sour because of the pineapple but good @horseshoetaproom Raspberry Stout 5.8% Stouty raspberry - a little odd to me having the raspberry with the coffee notes @behemothbrewingcompany Churly's cantina agave tropical stout 7% Stout not bad, good mouth feels, coffee, choc bitter, not sure where trop comes in Behemoth were also giving away pickle and Mac n cheese chips; pickle was the best @seekerbrew Belgian Quad 10%* Malty, all spice, sweet feels, made for sipping. Notice the high abv as you deink But it did go well with my jalapeno poppers from @burgerliquor And to finish @shiningpeakbrewing Feijoa Sour Very sour but I wasn't tasting alot of Feijoa however it was the end of the day for me... by @brewjaynz
Had a great morning at @beervananz Glad we paid for early entry so I could check out a couple of breweries I was interested in before the masses descended... #drinkingbefore11 by @brewjaynz
My gateway craft beer (one of) way back when. Still enjoyable! #gatewaybeer #nzcraftbeer #monteithsblack #darkale by @brewjaynz
Coco Cacao Stout (8% abv) by @eaglebaybrewingco Haunting my fridge since March 2025 I finally found the moment to drink this vegan pastry stout! OMG soooo good Taste: Sweet, chocolate with a hint of coffee, malt and a tidbit of coconut Grade: 9 Beer Bellies Pour: gurgled from the can , slick like with a simmer of a head Colour: brown black Smell: cocoa and a tiny hint of coffee #craftbeer #aussiecraftbeer #beersofinstagram #craftbeernotcrapbeer #winterbeers by @brewjaynz
Magically Flowery Queen of the Meadow Biere de Pretemps (4.9% abv) by @smallgodsbrewery A mystery beer type to me but one I was looking forward to trying. This was made in spring for drinking in summer. Oh well, I have missed that kpi but it was still very enjoyable Taste: just like a meadow - flowery, perfumey and a little grassy. Reminded me very much of a Saison Grade: 8 Beer Bellies Pour: a head as it poured but then moved to a rolling effervescence in the glass Colour: pale (urine) yellow and crystal clear Smell: unusual - a little funky, something herbaceous. Wasn't quite sure what I was getting #aucklandbeer #craftbeer #craftbeernz #craftbeernotcrapbeer #summerbeers by @brewjaynz
Better than the Gelato? Sour Cherry Gelato Imperial Stout (8.5% abv) by @beerfarm This sounded so good when I was browsing the shelves, trying to decide what to bring back in my checked baggage, and it definitely was. It was a treat on a cool autumn evening. I managed to visit a couple of breweries in and around Margaret River recently, but sadly, Beerfarm is for the next trip. A limited release in collaboration with @maitardigelato Taste: cherry and almond blended beautifully with chocolate and coffee Grade: 8.5 Beer Bellies Pour: it had a great head to start but it disolved mighty quickly  Colour: deep dark black brown Smell: cherry, almond and coffee #craftbeer #aussiecraftbeer  #beersofinstagram #beersouvenir #ilovebeer by @brewjaynz
Who says a great stout has to knock you off your feet? iStout (5.2% abv) by @houseofhopnz I picked up this can on a road trip to Oamaru last year while taking the scenic route. It may be light on the alcohol content of a stout, but it’s packed with flavour! It’s a delightful little treat as we get ready for the cooler days and evenings. Taste: full on coffee and chocolate with a hint of vanilla Grade: 8.5 Beer Bellies Pour: a creamy frothy top Colour: black Smell: chocolate, coffee and malt #craftbeer #craftbeernz #nzcraftbeer #beer #beersofinstagram by @brewjaynz
A Feijoa Sour (5.8% abv) by @canyonbrewingqt As autumn settles in, it feels like the perfect time to indulge in feijoa-based treats! This drink is definitely worth trying. Taste: feijoa, guava, mildly sweet with passionfruit and a sour kinda fermented fruit taste Grade: 8 Beer Bellies Pour: effervescent with no head Colour: golden dark yellow Smell: fruity, apple, feijoa, winey #craftbeer #craftbeernz #nzcraftbeer #beer #autumnbeers by @brewjaynz
