Tuesdays @ Monk Space - NOV 3

Get out to VOTE then join us at Monk Space for a special concert by Brightwork Ensemble Soprano @cstaceyfraser.

Fraser is joined by her bandmates for an evening of works by Daniel Kessner, John Cage, Kurt Weill, and George E. Lewis. Together, they explore nature, spirituality, the fragility of humanity and the wonderfully unfiltered thoughts that pop into Fraser’s head on her daily runs—proof that inspiration is only ever a few kilometers away.

Riffing on different design ideas for my upcoming @brghtwrk Tuesdays at Monk Space show — which do you prefer?

This will be one of my bigger solo (with guests) shows in LA since moving here 3 years ago, and I’d love it if you could come. I’ll be playing music for synthesizers and strings, that includes new works for cello and synth with Betsy Rettig and new improvised synth duos with @iandicke. I’ll also be playing violin and electronics solo works from my most recent album, Buoy, as well as premiering some new solo works.

Don't miss our Season Kickoff party with guitarist-composer Steve Thachuk!

**TIX LINK IN BIO**

Best known for his distinguished career as a classical guitarist and as an electric guitarist performing classic rock with symphony orchestras around the world, in this concert Steve steps beyond his usual musical territory to present an evening of ambient electric guitar soundscapes, post-rock-infused microtonal music, and collaborations with longtime friends and colleagues.

Featuring solo works by Steve Thachuk and Bekah Simms, as well as the world premiere of a new work by Alexander Elliott Miller, performed with flutist and frequent Brightwork collaborator Sarah Wass. The evening concludes with Brightwork member Stacey Fraser joining Steve for DJ Sparr’s haunting song cycle I Can Hear Her Through the Thin Wall Singing, followed by a selection of songs by their fellow Canadians, The Tragically Hip.
