Exactly one year ago today, is the day my mom went to the hospital for the first time saying she was having a hard time breathing. This was the start of her journey we were not prepared for. This day last year, was the day my world was flipped upside down.

A few days after New Year’s day, she was medically diagnosed with stage 4 lung cancer.

This time last year, my life changed forever.

I can’t finish this without having to drop my phone every few seconds because the tears won’t stop. I came across this picture from my junior year prom & I can remember this day like it happened yesterday. But this photo - couldn’t explain my mom ANY more. She was the light, the lover, the caregiver, the everything you could’ve ever wanted in a mom. Name a positive trait, she was that & more. I PROMISE you. She was the mom that was a best friend, too. Losing your parent that you had an unbreakable bond with, is no where near the heart break of a relationship; a friend… nothing. This heart break is worse…. This heart break, I wouldn’t wish on my worst enemy if I had one.

One year since we took you the hospital, almost 6 months since you’ve been gone.

It’s been 24hrs and I still can’t wrap my head around the reality I have to live in. I have cried and cried and cried nonstop mom, apologizing to you that I couldn’t save you. You only get 1 mom in this life and now I don’t have you physically. Please send me a sign when you can that you’re okay in heaven. Mom, quite frankly that’s the only thing that puts me at ease is knowing you’re up there chatting up a storm with Nana and Papa reminiscing and getting all the answers you’ve ever wanted. Not to mention, you probably have Cocoa sitting right there next to you. Everything seems fake, it doesn’t seem real. Everything right now just feels like a black nightmare that I can’t wake up from. It’s only been 24hrs and I can’t fathom what life is right now. We are hurting so badly without you mom… mom’s are supposed to live forever. & we’re having the hardest, hardest time mom. The ONLY thing that puts us at ease is knowing you’re no longer suffering and you get to see Cocoa, Nana and Papa. I just don’t have the words to even explain what this feeling is, nor would I ever wish this on my worst enemy if I had one. You’re my angel mom, I miss you your hugs, your smell, your sweet beautiful voice. Until we meet again my angel. One thing I promise you, is that your babies plus your husband aka Pocky will be okay with each other, we promise to be there for each other and to never let you down in that way. We may not have you physically here mom, but we promise to stick together and lift each other up in these times, because we know you’d want nothing more, with how much you preached about family and you always have each others backs, and that’s what we’ll do for you. Blood is thicker than water. 😞 I love you, SO so much.

Starfish are NOTORIOUS suck ups, they LOVE to give compliments ✨

Got to throw myself an aquamarine themed birthday party over the weekend with some of my favorite people (while missing some) & it was the best night I’ve had in awhile! I truly got exactly what I wanted for my birthday, and that was to have so many of my loved ones under one roof hanging out and enjoying themselves! Thanks to everyone for all of the love that was shown & given, I truly do feel so lucky & blessed to have my people surrounding me 🫶🏻

Finding a bathing suit that makes you feel so good & so confident is a genuine WIN as a woman who had a baby 🖤

As a mom, it is extremely difficult to feel good in our skin & seeing our body change, even after a year & some later. Society isn’t the kindest to moms & our bodies sometimes. I’ve come a VERY long way trying to be confident, let’s just say Bri a year ago would never start this caption with the word ‘hot’ in it - but here we are now… being confident & shit ✨ This one is dedicated to the moms out there - we’re fucking hot too with our “mom bod” ; in every shape, size, color, etc. Society can ✨ HAPPILY ✨ kiss our ass xoxo 💋

Life the past few weeks ✨

It is safe to say we have settled in beautifully! Tbh, I was so nervous, happy, excited, sad, anxious & every other emotion in the book you can think of. Even though we didn’t move out of the state, we still moved to a whole different area that we’ve never LIVED in, only have visited so many times before! So, rightfully so, it was still a change, but change can truly be so freeing & so nice. Change is GOOD! With my husband, he was so used to being all over (he was a flight attendant for 6 years & moved out youngish) & with me, I was in one spot & stayed there, so it definitely was more of a “culture shock” if that’s what you want to call it 🤪

However, I always said I was open to being elsewhere for a change, and so far, it really has been so great, and that is such a blessing in itself, honestly! I’ve taken soooo many other photos but this is just a small snippet of the past few weeks, getting settled, seeing friends who live close, eating good & venturing out to get more familiar with what’s around us and what’s there to do!! I’m just so excited to see what else is in store for us & the opportunities that truly await ☁️

Don’t be scared of change, you never know… it could be the next best thing that’ll happen to ya 🤍

….but yours continues on ✨ (from Orlando to Tampa!!)

a dump some of you may have seen coming 🥹 some memories made from the past almost 2 weeks here in Orlando 🫶🏻 (photo dump collage is a lil video 🥹) I guess you can call this a good ole send off as we officially make our way over to Tampa to start this very exciting, very nerve wracking journey. Rounded up my friends & family to create the best memories ever even though it’s a “see ya once you’re settled & not goodbye” DUH! 😋 (I’m not that far!!)

While Orlando will always ALWAYS be home, we are so ready for you Tampa & what doors & opportunities lie ahead for us! &, while most of my family & friends are here, we’re excited to see more of our friends & family we have on the other side, & truly, it’s the best of both worlds for me! 🫶🏻 I get to have everyone I love in both places!

Who knows, maybe we’ll find ourselves back in Orlando one day or maybe Tampa keeps us for awhile, that’s the beauty of the unknown sometimes, & either which way, I’ll always remain positive & open minded. ALWAYS!
