A few months ago, I played Hedwig on the NCTC stage. Now, Bría Gaia Padilla Irizarry is making history as the first trans woman headlining Audrey in a professional Bay Area theater on that same stage.

We’re from the same small hometown in Levittown, Puerto Rico. We carry our island with us. And now, young latino queer folks in the Bay Area have something we didn’t always have: the chance to see themselves reflected in a lead role.

This is what @nctcsf is building. This is what bold, intentional casting looks like.

Little Shop of Horrors is running NOW. Go see Audrey fully, unapologetically herself. Nctcsf.org

Little Shop of Horrors at New Conservatory Theatre Center INDUSTRY NIGHT is Monday, Sept 21, 7:30pm (a.k.a. "Little Shop Day" per the script). DM me for codes to get $35 tix to that show, or for $40 tix to all others (except Opening Night). I promise, this is going to be so freaking cool! A thrilling, twisted Little Shop like you've never seen. Sept 12 to Oct 18, maybe longer!... https://nctcsf.org/event/little-shop/ taken in New Conservatory Theatre Center by @briagaia
