Earlier this month, I participated in the Austin 48 Hour Film Project @atx48hfp as a producer as well as a lead actor in our film "Cortex" - team NeverStop Films @neverstopfilms. Here are some BTS photos. The film was conceptualized, written, produced, shot, scored, and edited all within 48 hours from the evening of June 5-7. We drew the category: horror (of course) and had to use a specific prop, character, and line in the film. We finished 1st place for set design as well as 2nd place in several categories: best editing, best cinematography, best sound design, best stunts, best score, and best individual dramatic performance. We finished #4 for top film in the entire festival (out of 22). It was awesome working with such an amazing group of people! The director's cut of the film will be available online later this summer... stay tuned.

Ecuador Trip Photos - Part 3 of 3: Galápagos Islands (Isabela [Part 2], Santiago, Mosquera)

The final days at sea included some of the most memorable hikes, views, and snorkels followed by relaxing in the hot tub on the yacht. We saw more animals doing their thing, encountered the only hawk we saw during the trip, and witnessed some great sunsets. Also saw what I believe to be the fattest iguana in the Galápagos. One final kayak ride and some blue-footed boobies brought us to the end of the trip.

Ecuador Trip Photos - Part 2 of 3: Galápagos Islands (Isabela [Part 1], Fernandina)

These first few days at sea included some hikes through lavascapes, first sightings of penguins, cute sea lions and tortoises, some cool snorkeling encounters, a kayak journey, and many many many iguanas.

Ecuador Trip Photos - Part 1 of 3: Quito & Galápagos Islands (Santa Cruz, Floreana)

This was an epic trip filled with culture, beautiful nature, interesting animals, and stories I'll never forget! My dad and I spent the 1st day in Quito before departing to the Galápagos Islands to spend the 2nd day in the highlands where we saw giant tortoises and walked through a lava tunnel. Then on day 3 we headed to the port town Puerto Ayora (which included a visit to the Darwin Research Station) before setting off on our yacht for 6 days to explore the remote islands. The last photo is from Post Office Bay where I mailed a couple postcards.

Road Trip 2025: Part 3 of 3: Camel's Hump State Park in Northern Vermont. I decided to do a day hike to the third highest peak in VT, Camel's Hump. It was the perfect hike - took about 4 hours round trip, wasn't too crowded, and had a few interesting sights along the way such as remnants from an old plane crash. Fall colors were peak! by @brian.mahood

Road Trip 2025, Part 2 of 3: Manchester-Concord, NH & Saratoga Springs-Albany, NY & Wilmington, DE & Philadelphia, PA. It was so great to see my longtime friends @tinamarchand and @herr_marchand in New Hampshire and explore the outdoor areas and food/beer scene of the state. Saratoga Springs was a nice respite after a long hike in Vermont (photos coming soon in part 3) and the New York capital city Albany was filled with interesting old architecture. Then it was off to Wilmington, Delaware to catch up with my aunt and uncle at their favorite local spot. Finally, the trip ended in Philadelphia where I explored numerous United States relics, tried a number of breweries, and walked many, many miles. by @brian.mahood
