An absolutely gorgeous bluebird day, high in the Swiss Alps on Jungfraujoch, as the NFL's all-time leading points scorer and four-time Super Bowl champion Adam Vinatieri kicked a World Record field goal. The retired 53-year-old New England Patriots and Indianapolis Colts Hall of Fame kicker booted the highest altitude kick ever, on a glacier - at 3,454m/11,332ft!! 🏈 No problem navigating tricky winds while maintaining his footing on the snow, tough conditions that Vinatieri became accustomed to over his illustrious 24-year NFL career. Congrats Adam! And special thanks to Swiss Jungfrau Railways. Here's how everything at the Top of Europe went down with Adam & supporters. What a fun day!

And the kick is up and it's good!!! 🏈
Today, I had the chance to witness 4-time Super Bowl champion Adam Vinatieri's GUINNESS WORLD RECORD here at the Swiss Jungfraujoch Glacier, the Top of Europe, as the NFL Hall of Famer successfully made the highest altitude field goal ever, at 3,454 meters or 11,322 feet.

Vinatieri, 53, struck a perfect ball into the thin alpine air and straight thru goal posts to establish the WORLD RECORD. His successful 30-yard kick on the snowy UNESCO World Heritage Site Jungfrau-Aletsch glacier was a splendid sight to see on a bluebird day in the Swiss Alps. He had to calculate for the wind and maintain his footing on the snow.

Adam told me afterward :"This was pretty wild – I’ve been very fortunate to make some big kicks in my career and this was definitely right up there at the top of the list,” This Jets fan was impressed!

Venice never gets old as long as you know where to venture. Caught a ride on the Traghetto Gondola Ferry across the Grand Canal to San Marco. A Carabinieri speed boat zoomed by in hot pursuit of someone - shades of 'The Tourist' with Johnny Depp & Angelina Jolie. After the turbulent, but fun trip, explored the side streets around San Marco Piazza with a relaxing stop at Caffe Florian, the oldest coffee shop in Italy, a place where Casanova & Hemingway socialized, albeit not together. I would have loved to hang out with them! 😂 Come along on my Venetian adventure on what was a gorgeous late summer afternoon in northern Italy..

Was fortunate to catch up with both members of tonight's elite NBC broadcasting duo at very different times & places. Mr. Tirico, here in Cortina, Italy, gave him a personal Olympic tour in Feb. '25 & his trusty partner Cris Collinsworth in Krasnaya Polyana, Russia, Feb. 2014. It should be a good one tonight guys, a Super Bowl rematch between the defending champion Seattle Seahawks and the New England Patriots.

The art of flight: elite women's mountain bike downhillers Anna Newkirk, 5th in the world (first photo) & Matilda Melton (second photo) soar off a manmade jump near the top of the treacherous and feared 1.5 mile "Black Snake" 🐍 course at world championships today in Val di Sole, Italy 🇮🇹.
And this was only qualifying. Tomorrow, both men's & women's racers will be charging even harder, and faster, with world championship titles on the line!

It has been 2 years, August 5, 2024, since "Mondo" Duplantis electrified the Stade de France 🇫🇷 winning Olympic pole vault GOLD 🥇 while soaring to a new World Record of 6.24m/20-5 1/2. Immediately afterwards, you could feel the capacity crowd stadium shaking under your feet. The victory celebration continued as 🇸🇪 ABBA's Dancing Queen blared thru the venue's speakers from all sides and the crowd matched the noise!

Luca Fabris of Treviso, Italy wins the inaugural Cortina 56-26 Legacy Trail 56km race with a time of 5 hours, 38 minutes & 16 seconds. The new races honoring Cortina's Olympic legacy passed by 9 Olympic venues from 1956 & 2026. Fabris' impressive victory involved ascending 2800m of rugged Dolomites terrain. Congratulazioni Luca! My European adventures, extended stay, began 20 years ago with my brother Mark & I hopping an overnight ferry ⛴️ from Ancona, Italy 🇮🇹 To Split, Croatia 🇭🇷 before we headed north to Prague 🇨🇿, where I resided for 15 years.
NOW, retracing that journey having taken the same ferry two decades later, to meet my buddy Jason in Croatia! Celebrating 20 years in Euroland. 🎉 The adventures continue!!
