@brian_a_nelson been coming to Iquitos, Peru for several years. Each year he has grown his team ( @mayhemmissions )and each year that team has planted seeds of the gospel all over this city (and the surrounding villages in the jungle). What started as a drop in to a tiny gym grew to be a huge ministry where the hope of Jesus infiltrated the hearts of athletes across Iquitos. I’ve had the privilege of coming on this trip for the last two years and while I was not the one who planted these seeds, it is a joy to watch them sprout.
All of these people getting baptized have heard the gospel and have decided to place their faith in the work of Jesus. Water baptism does not make you righteous before God but it is a symbol of the work Christ has done in your heart. Much like wearing a wedding ring - it is a symbol of the commitment you made but wearing the ring alone does not make you married.
It was an honor to watch these people make the decision to go public with their faith.

I pray God continues to work in the hearts of the people of Iquitos. I pray that they will taste and see that the Lord is good and that they will share the hope that is in them with everyone they come into contact with.

The only thing we can take to heaven with us is people. I’m thankful God plucked me out of a dark life and that I’ll get to be with Him forever (Romans 5:8). And now, when I leave Peru it’s not goodbye forever but rather a see ya later to my brothers and sisters in Christ who live in South America. by @brian_a_nelson

I am making this post for the purpose of seeking prayer and to honor a warrior for the kingdom.
Meet @austinmokinney who is a husband, father, pastor, missionary, @mayhemathlete , volunteer to the needy and basically a stud all around.
I had the privilege of seeing this man fall in love with God, then immediately take off to Africa with me on a @mayhemmissions adventure.
Austin was recently serving the hurricane victims in his home state of North Carolina when he slipped and fell off the roof of someone’s home while serving. He was paralyzed from the waist down and immediately went into surgery. As of now the post surgery reports have been positive.
I simply am asking you to pray for Austin that God shows off and completely heals his body!
@mayhemmissions will soon be releasing a way to support Austin, his wife and two children as he begins his road to recovery!
Love you Austin! #intothestorm by @brian_a_nelson
