In a little over a week, I’ll be heading off on tour - with [gulp] 45 shows between now and Christmas. I’ve just bought a new suitcase - a waterproof one - to avoid a repeat of last year’s disaster. Many of the shows are now close to selling out: Cardigan, Guildford, Croydon, Norwich, Manchester, Stroud, Stirling, Leeds, Exeter, Newark, Bakewell, Chorley, Liverpool, Bristol and London. A few people have asked whether books will be available at these shows - and the answer is yes, for each show there will be a local bookseller and I’ll sign books at the end of the night (should you want me to, that is). I’ll also be at the Morecambe Poetry Festival next weekend. Looking forward to seeing some of you when I’m out and about. by @brian_bilston

Twenty-five shows down, a paltry twenty to go. Thank you, Oxford and Corsham, for two terrific evenings. I’ve got a couple of days off now - when I’ll be focusing on my November newsletter and sleeping. Back on the road next Wednesday with a trip to the seaside. by @brian_bilston
📒 NEW SHOW ANNOUNCEMENT 📒 @brian_bilston - one of the UK’s most hilarious and best-loved poets, is here to take us through the hows, whys and whats of reading, writing and enjoying poetry every day. 🗓️ Thursday 6th May 📍 Cheese & Grain, Frome With his characteristic wit and charm, Bilston accompanies us through the jungle of imagination to the source of inspiration, takes us under the bonnet of a sonnet and over the fear of literary devices. He gives us a whirlwind tour through the history of verse, and shows us why human poetry will always triumph over any attempts by AI. Showcasing over a hundred brand new poems, and including practical critiques of some of his greatest hits, every page is an immensely pleasurable deep-dive into the life-affirming craft of poetry and a passionate argument for why we should all pick up a pen. Thank you to the fine folks of Stamford for a great evening last night. Tonight, I’m at the Apex in Bury St Edmunds for my final gig* in the East of England. Just a handful of tickets remaining. *poetry recital by @brian_bilston
Disappointed to miss World Pasta Day yesterday - and now I need to heat up this poem in the microwave. by @brian_bilston
Auditions for the new James Bond are apparently happening this weekend - and I’m now regretting I didn’t throw my hat into the ring. by @brian_bilston
Thank you to everyone who braved the elements to head out and see me in Aberdeen on Friday and Stirling last night. Your commitment to the cause of poetry is highly commendable. I’ve got a couple of days off but then return next week for another four on the trot: Stamford, Bury St Edmunds, Corsham and the first of my two Oxford shows. by @brian_bilston
If you’re coming along to tonight’s show, please note it has been brought forward to 6pm, with doors at 5.30. Blame Storm Boelo for that. Tonight’s show is sold out but if you didn’t get a ticket first time around, it may be worth checking with Tolbooth box office in case there have been any returns following the earlier start time. by @brian_bilston
A big thank you to all those who came out along to Kidderminster Town Hall last night. What a fabulous venue to come and read some poems. On the subject of magnificent settings, tonight I’m at Mackintosh Queen’s Cross in Glasgow. I’ve got very fond memories of performing there a couple of years ago with the legendary Henry Normal. Here’s a pic from that night. Just hoping I’ll get there on time (I’ve got form when it comes to journeying by train to Glasgow). by @brian_bilston

Here’s a poem about my relationship with deadlines. by @brian_bilston
