Finally reading Celia Paul’s “letters to Gwen John” and thinking about the #eustonschoolofart idea of painting and drawing. What would my work be like if I worked exclusively from observation, against the influence of post Impressionism? Here’s a bedroom study in acrylic & pencil from June 2020. I’m also thinking about how one curated one’s own archive- these works that wouldn’t be seen unless I post some here occasionally.. do I add notations on the back of pictures? I pity the person who inherits all my ouevre. But maybe that’s a big headed assumption that my work might outlive me? by @brian_cheeswright

Comic I began during Covid and never came back to. I think the studios would probably be turned into flats by now and Harmonia, the character in the story, is now a full time zero hour Amazon delivery driver. by @brian_cheeswright

It’s poetry time

Nope didn’t make it into the @hampstead_art_society_ open this year either, but I think this is a pretty solid work. View of Dunsapie Loch in Edinburgh, i made a trip back there exactly a year ago, but I used to jog regularly around the Queens Drive and meditate on one of the rocks above. If you look closely you can see Berwick Law and Bass Rock on the horizon.

Oil painting this morning based on a large acrylic I made about 10 years ago when I was looking at Wilfredo Lam and CoBrA artists a lot. Felt good to flex in a different direction. c 40 x 50cm by @brian_cheeswright

Oil painting this morning. I’m trying to get more organized in being able to sell my work and market my artist’s persona. Hence the fragile pose. More poetry readings. This might include reminders that you can feel free to DM me if you were interested in making a purchase. I shall be setting up a wee shop in my website with a few very reasonably priced works on paper to get the ball rolling. Anyhows as usual thanks for looking ❤️ by @brian_cheeswright
