Sometimes you just go out there and explore. Just you the bike and a buddy or two. It’s really the feeling of experience that you share with others that sticks with you. taken in Utah, USA by @brian_conetucky

Quite the story on this one. First off, @utahgravelseries puts in a heck of a race and the Dirty Dino T-Rex is my favorite. I hung with the front until mile 12 where I chose to ride my own pace during the steepest pitch of the 4.5k foot climb. I later made it to the 2nd aid station and found that I had forgotten to charge (2) of my (4) stashed batteries. Queue running some mental calcs to make sure I had enough battery (I did not!) and opted to run on tour for about 25% of the remaining race. I leapfrogged with @whooptygoldberg a couple times and he gave me an absolute clinic on finishing a race, including the 50mph DH. Finished in just over 6hours. Thanks @nationalabilitycenter @bowheadcorp and of course @kelsey_snocone for the support and @kris_braun for the sweet photos. taken in Vernal, Utah by @brian_conetucky

Coming out of some of those turns like butter melting off a hot biscuit… @utahgravelseries Wild Horse Gravel is a hard race in any format but the 92 mile super stallion version was fast fun and hard. I got out fast, took the less dusty drafts and found myself leading the race at mile 4 (literally very front)- just before inevitably being dropped on the climb 🤷🏼‍♂️. Ben caught and passed me up the climb but I kept him in sight, then reeled him in and drafted for a few miles before putting some distance between us. First place for me in para on the day - finishing in 5:53 - about 1 hour after the fast boys and P15 overall. Thanks to @nationalabilitycenter for the support, @kris_braun for the photos and @kelsey_snocone for everything else in the world. And @bowheadcorp for producing this sweeeet bike. taken in Delle, Utah by @brian_conetucky

When it comes to #adaptive , the job (of fiddling) is never done.
Next up: @utahgravelseries Wild Horse Gravel - super stallion edition. I guess it’s another opportunity for me to pull up my socks and think about life choices. by @brian_conetucky

So, turns out that Fuego XL is hard. Like, Super hard. I did not finish, missed the time cut by five minutes.

I blew out several teeth on my granny gear - and I was out of the bike twice to put the chain back on. I crashed once, tipped over a few times and got stuck in sand twice. I have blisters on both my hands and it hurts to even think about biking right now.

Despite the above, I had fun. I’ll take away memories I’ll never forget and learned a few things. I’m sure glad I did it, but not sure I’ll try again. I have to give a huge shoutout to @hi5sfoundation and @bowheadcorp for all the support. Also @dharcoclothing for the pants and @conti_bicycle for rescuing me with a last minute tire. Oh - and all those random riders that by their own volition helped me get going again after I tipped over. taken in Sea Otter Classic by @brian_conetucky

@utahgravelseries salty lizard was cold and fun. Seven para athletes in the field - a UGS all time high. Ben and I took on the 100 mile version - and I’m glad we did. I finished first after putting in some distance with some smart racing. Thanks to @bowheadcorp and @nationalabilitycenter for the support . Special thanks to @qeja_socks for all the help.

It’s pretty cool to be able to explore when you’re a quadriplegic. I was thinking back to all the different things that I’ve done this year, and the various ways I’ve explored. Son of the coolest moments for honestly just being out with friends and family… none of which was happening without Bowhead. taken in Utah, USA by @brian_conetucky

Just two boys out on this bad idea… 5k of climbing, 40-ish miles. 99% of battery. It really felt like an adventure out there, after getting around the closed gate and then not seeing anyone for hours. Then it got really adventurous when people were shooting AR-15s at the hillside beside us. I really can’t say enough about the freedom I feel when doing things like this. I can’t say enough about the friendships that experiences like this build. I can’t wait for the next bad idea. More to come in 2026. taken in Bountiful Peak by @brian_conetucky

This is super late. Like months late. But here we go: supported by the @nationalabilitycenter (3) adaptive racers took on Lifetime’s crusher in the Tushar. At 70 miles and 10,000 feet of climbing, @tusharcrusher is a total beast of a race. I took second in para. One of the coolest parts was when all three of us were together in the Sarlac pit at roughly mile 40.

I’ve included “bike-check” photos for those real nerds in the crowd. @bowheadcorp RX - the most bad ass adaptive bike in the gravel field.! Details … The front: 20 inch tubeless Kenda booster pro SCT 2.2 with Vittoria inserts. The rear is Kenda booster gravel pro 650B x 48 . Fox Suspension all around. The lean of the bike is custom: because of a major incident, the Bike body tilts one way, and the front tilts the other - I still need to get that fixed. Also custom cockpit and extra battery holder. GX transmission grinding the gears. Stoppers are Hayes Dominion T4 - because if you’re gonna go to the Bike, rodeo you better be prepared to stop.✋ taken in Beaver, Utah by @brian_conetucky

Pre-riding a race course can be critical on a handcycle. In the spirit of exploration, we set out to see what the first day of @rebeccasprivateidaho would look be like. It turns out the trail was totally rideable for us. There were no spots or bridges that were too narrow, no dangerous technical spots, and the downhill on Big Woods Loop was a total blast. The only problem was the looseness of the climb and that if we lost momentum, we would get stuck. Each of us needed a small push around six different places. That doesn’t really seem like much, but thinking about how that could impact other people‘s races, it didn’t seem like the course would be great for us to be on at the same time as everyone else. taken in Sun Valley, Idaho by @brian_conetucky

The @nationalabilitycenter Para off-road team doing epic rides… mix those with questionable decisions, equals unforgettable memories. We are still working on getting the formula right and are in our first year. We have raced multiple @utahgravelseries races, @belgianwaffleride , @tusharcrusher, @midweekmtb and will be at @rebeccasprivateidaho this weekend through next. by @brian_conetucky
