This Saturday night from 7pm-11pm @brian_gray_howe will takeover our turntable at @littlegembar for our fourth installment of the #littlegemlistemingparties!

You may know Brian from his excellent work writing for @indyweek amongst many other publications. He is also a musician and performs with the awesome @streakoftigers.band.

We are excited to hear what Brian spins!

Also looking forward, we have two more installments for the year, with Chad Rich of @motelshotrecords not only spinning records but setting up a pop up vinyl store in the bar on 12/13.

Lastly, we will close out the year strong with @holy_sons Emil Amos on 12/20!

Little Gem is open Wednesday through Saturday at 5pm.

everyone who knows me has heard me going around muttering about this novel lately. Think I’m going to try out the prologue for the first time at this reading at @soandsobooks with @dythekid_basicbattlesbooks and David Abel on Thursday. So I’m keen for impressions if you can roll through! by @brian_gray_howe

Very excited to play a show in this beautiful, piano-equipped Saxapahaw space on Sunday (see @streakoftigers.band for more details). Credit where it’s due: I’m improvising on a half-remembered scrap of haunted melody from a Grouper song, and I can’t promise not to do it again. taken in Culture Mill by @brian_gray_howe

My first feature for Uncut magazine! Thanks @rosalimusic for your beautiful music and story, @uncut_magazine for still printing beautiful magazines, and @regulatordurham for being the only place around that still carries them (if not this one yet). I will read it someday. by @brian_gray_howe

Glimpses from last night at @shadowbox_studio featuring @bnfltn with Crowmeat Bob and @dythekid_basicbattlesbooks and @jphono1 with Nathan Goldberg. Sorry for the terrible framing, I forgot to shoot vertically. I don’t have a clip of our @streakoftigers.band set, so instead I’m uploading this picture of an Ancient Greek baby toilet I’m sure you’ll enjoy. taken in Shadowbox Studio by @brian_gray_howe
