Introducing: THE RISCHMOND DEADFINS

My fantasy football team, previously named “Get Risch or die trying” has been truly aweful this year. With a record of 1-4, instead of checking the waivers, I gave my team a fresh name and coat of paint. Hopefully this inspires my players to just play a little bit harder.

14 years ago I lost my grandmother. Easily my favorite human to ever walk this earth.

In a recent conversation with my brother we talked about how our grandparents had what we considered the worst VHS collection to young boys. And because of that for years and years we would watch the 2 movies they had that we loved, “Kindergarten Cop” and “The Sound of Music.”

To this day both of those movies hold a special place in my heart, and today I will be participating in what will be a fun a heartwarming double feature. Two amazing films that I just had to throw together this poster to honor all those memories I have of that special lady. I had a lot of fun with this. And I know she would love it. I met Andy multiple times over the 15+ years. He always made time for his fans to say thank you, to share stories. To give you a hug or a high five. Shit, once he even insisted I use the urinal first.

I was able to show him my ETID tattoo, tell him how seeing Every Time I Die on Jimmy Kimmel was my introduction into heavy music, And that when I grow up I want to be Andy Williams.

Last year when I ran the Austin Half Marathon, I had one of the worst runs of my life. A full on mental breakdown, and while I finished, I felt like a failure. I wanted to quit, to quit that day, and to quit running all together.

But instead, when I approached the same run this year, I decided to take on that notoriously difficult course, and not let it beat me. And boy did I crush it this year. Got my 2nd fastest half time. 20 minutes faster than 2025. I felt so much better, and got to see so many great people along the way! 5 halfs down. Many more to come.

We did it. Now time for a nap.
