S I X YEARS
As of April 13th, 2026
One day at a time
Thank you God, cause it’s all you.
Beyond grateful I continue to have a willingness to be honest, open minded and willing. To live in recovery, unity and service. To continue to be open and remain teachable. To continue to trust God, clean house, and help others -to the best of my ability (I’m definitely an imperfect human)…
however
My life today is a GIFT✨🥹
The joy, LOVE, connection, freedom, and peace I get to experience😭 it’s indescribable. This last year has really been the most beautiful. What’s happening in my life today; the blessings- I couldn’t have even dreamed of.. It’s even better🥹🥰
Honestly though, I’m having a hard time in celebration this year because the truth of this illness is that it’s deadly and insidious. The longer I’m sober, the more people I know, the more people I love, and the more people I lose.
So many people don’t know what they don’t know about addiction/alcoholism and it’s a heart breaking truth. People I love dearly are struggling (prayers for em please) and my heart hurts for them. However this is the severity of this illness. Some make it, some don’t- i’ve learned not everyone is ready or able to receive help… And there go I, if I don’t stay diligent daily.
So I remain grateful and God centered. I’ve learned through my experience that I have a spiritual illness that I want to “fix” with earthly things and what I’ve learned is that even tho I can fill this God sized hole with earthly things, it DOESN’T WORK or actually give me continued relief, peace, joy, contentment, or FREEDOM. What I’ve found is that a spiritual solution is the only thing that works for me. I have an illness that centers in my mind and affects the way I think and feel. It will tell me lies in my own voice. It wants me isolated, alone and in FEAR. The only thing that works for me is practicing these spiritual principles in every area of my life, to the best of my ability, on a daily basis- honesty, hope, faith, courage, integrity, willingness, humility, loving others, discipline, perseverance, spiritual awareness, and service.
