Cedar Grove’s original kitchen house. Other than making it structurally sound, replacing some of beams that have deteriorated, and rebuilding the stairs to each door, we are leaving it exactly as is to honor the space. The original kitchen table that sat right in front of this massive stone fireplace is now on permanent display at the Smithsonian in DC (see third photo). We have found a replacement table to put in the space, and we will be buying some age appropriate kitchen tools as well. taken in Cedar Grove (Edgefield, South Carolina) by @brianbranton

Found this great painting at the @jonathanfisherhouse antique show in Maine, which is now hanging proudly in the center hall. And this of course freed up a painting to move into the pink bedroom.
