Today is Brian’s birthday and we are remembering and celebrating his life. It is 7 months since he passed. The mirrored reality of grief and celebration is present. We have been stunned by how his legacy continues to advance and impact 1,000s and 1,000s of people even today. I am reminded today of Brian’s final message “Accept Your Calling and Hebrews 12:1-3 comes to mind:

“Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles. And let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us, fixing our eyes on Jesus, the pioneer and perfecter of faith. For the joy set before him he endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God. Consider him who endured such opposition from sinners, so that you will not grow weary and lose heart.”

Today I pray that the witness and testimony of Brian’s life would fuel you with fresh faith and provoke each of us to not only accept our call but run with great endurance in it. Happy Birthday Brian. Undoubtably, today is your best birthday celebrating with Jesus. We love you.

With great sadness and firm hope, we announce that Brian Brennt passed away on November 4th, 2021. Brian battled a lifelong autoimmune disease and passed away from mounting medical complications. He leaves behind the love of his life, Christy Brennt, and four kids, three of whom are married. Brian was many things, a pioneering leader, a movement starter, a leadership coach, an incredible Bible teacher and author, a man of great Faith, an empowerer of youth, champion of women, an advocate of justice, but most of all, a man who loved like Jesus and was a Father to many. Brian's driving passion was for a generation to be saved, revived, and trained. It took on many forms, from starting a church in Tacoma, Washington, to co-founding both Circuit Riders and THE SEND and catalyzing many movements and dreams for individuals around the world. Nothing was impossible, and no dream was too big because Brian knew what Jesus could do through surrendered men and women. He did not see the fulfillment of every promise, but he did see the start. His legacy and vision live on now through all of us.

Incredible what God is up to. I was allowed into Cedars Sinai Hospital in Los Angeles. This will allow me some additional care to minister to my hip, knee, hip, foot and hand.

It takes a family to accomplish these kinds of jobs and we are so grateful for Holly and the entire Brennt Family. Matt Nelson. So many others. The entire Circuit Rider Family!!

We will keep you posted and updated with the most recent progress. Our prayers are:

1. Healing of the wound
2. Complete healing and removal of all inflammatory response.
3. All inflammatory arthritis response healed.
4. Gods fire would put out the inflammatory response completely
Christy would be strengthened!
The entire family would be filled with new strength!!!!!

I been digging into previous truths that the suffering lll
There are many reasons for this.
For starters they have learned that for the most part no one wants to truly listen. They have been interrupted countless times with sentence ender’s of Christian cliché’s or quickly having to listen to how the other person knows someone who beat the disease. If listening is defined by asking specific questions that are followed up by further insightful questions then listening is a rare thing to be found to the one who is going through the suffering. We are uncomfortable with hearing things we cannot solve or explain. To delve into the mysteries of the processes of God’s forging is not something most people have a deep interest in! This is the next step of recovery and strengthening. Ran into the grace of God with my friend Les Barkely who came over yesterday. This is no normal man he does not view anything normal. He saw The joy of building in the chair and facing the long lists of impossibilities. Les sharpened my eye sight to see the absolute rareness of the moment I was privileged to be in. And that’s all I feel. The privilege to expand my eye sight to see those around me. Today I saw warriors strong and far beyond me moving into new adventures and boldness. Grateful I am but also greatly intimidated. No reason to impress anyone especially myself. I just want to see. I want to really see. I don’t know how long this chair will be my companion but I do know every day my eyes will be watching the far greater things like bravery and valor. Fresh air and Jesus. Privileged. by @brianbrennt

Update from Nick - Brian was released from St Joseph’s Hospital Weds night. Brian will continue the fight at home against infection. Prayers are needed for the hip to heal and wound to close from the three surgeries, the biggest being the Girdlestone procedure.

What is the Girdlestone procedure?
Named after Gathorne Girdlestone, a professor of orthopaedic surgery from Oxford, the procedure involves removing part of the ball of the thigh bone or femur, allowing it to fuse with the hip socket (acetabulum) in the straight leg position. The process - also known as resection arthroplasty of the hip - was devised for treating tuberculosis or extreme infection of the hip before joint replacement techniques became viable. This procedure shortens the leg by an average of 5 inches until he is able to get a full hip replacement. Due to the life threatening infection we had no choice but to move forward with this procedure.

Brian has a team of 6 specialists as this case is so rare and complicated. The doctors explained that they only come across something like this every six years and it will take collaboration to see the hip first healed and then replaced. They told us to be patient as everything needs to fully healed before we can move forward to a new stage.

Key Prayers:

1. Infection to be totally defeated and never return
2. Hip to heal and close properly
3. Increase strength to navigate and move
4. Learning how to use wheelchair the next weeks while needed.
5. Lungs to expand with new capacity
6. For blot clots in his body to be fully dissolved.

Christy thank you for bringing all of us as a family all together. I was delayed last night due to blood clots. Hope to see my way out soon. I am so grateful for this contrast in the Scriptures and provide for those who grieve in Zion—
to bestow on them a crown of beauty
instead of ashes,
the oil of joy
instead of mourning,
and a garment of praise
instead of a spirit of despair.
They will be called oaks of righteousness,
a planting of the Lord

In 2 Timothy, Pauls final letter before his death, he exhorted young Timothy to fight the good fight and finish strong with courage!

“And for this reason I remind you to kindle afresh the gift of God which is in you through the laying on of my hands. For God has not given us a spirit of timidity” That Greek word for timidity is “Delia”. It is different than “Phobos” the more common term for fear. Delia is shameful fear.
