I remember the morning back in 2013 which was taken on my old Canon 500D and had a fab morning wandering with the camera. I have revisited this old image and given it a softer feel.
Hope you like it

I’ve included both a colour and a black & white version, each with a slightly different mood.

Which do you prefer — colour or black & white?

An early afternoon on Corton Beach, Suffolk, from a few years ago — one of those images I took and somehow never got around to processing.

With a little more time on my hands now, I am now able to have a look at the hard drives for places and images that I had forgotten about . After a health scare last week, it’s been good to slow down a little and get back to normal, and spend a bit of time playing around with some images.

Sizewell from a cloudless morning in August, several minutes of exposure with the birds obliviously ignoring the Danger Keep Off sign.

Waiting To Work
Dungeness from bank holiday Monday. Waited for the clouds to sit perfectly behind the boat before taking the shot.

The long Reach

Shoeburyness Submarine boom in Essex, I am always amazed and impressed when I get to this location at just how big/long this structure is. It was originally built with wooden posts during the second world war and then after it was replaced with this concrete version, whether it worked or not I don’t know but it is still impressive as it stretches out into the Thames estuary. For this shot I wanted something slightly different as the nuclear sunrise was taking place and I opted for this viewpoint as opposed to the left side just emphasise the size and length of the submarine boom.

Dungeness is a location I’ve never visited before, so I decided Bank Holiday Monday was a good opportunity to wander, scout the area and hopefully find something worthy to capture in some moody weather.

There’s such an array of subjects here — old boats, working boats and sheds of all shapes and sizes. This was taken from the shoreline, looking up towards this old boat that had been moored at the top of the shingle bank.

I waited patiently for the clouds to finally settle behind the boat, creating the mood I was looking for before making the exposure.

Hope you like it.

Felixstowe port from a few years ago, an image that sat on the hard drive for quite a while.

Last spring I drove to Thurne, Norfolk on a morning that was forecasting mist instead it was thick fog. Most of my trips almost always end up going with plan B and this was one of them.

The old abandoned water intake cooling tower at Sizewell beach has found a new purpose — a nesting place for the gulls. It was a cloudless sky on Saturday morning so my visit was fairly brief with the weather and due to the fact that my wife had a list of jobs that needed doing back at home.
