This year took things from me.

Some I thought were permanent.
Some I probably took for granted.
And some, if I’m being truthful, I had probably already outgrown.

It took certainty.
It changed relationships.
It changed plans.
It changed me.

There were moments I handled beautifully.
There were moments I didn’t.

I disappeared sometimes.
I had a little too much fun sometimes.
I laughed when maybe I should have been working.
And worked when maybe I should have been healing.

I’ve learned not to apologize for being human in the middle of becoming someone new.

Because somewhere in all of this, I realized that losing your footing is not the same thing as losing your way.

Life has a funny way of putting us through the wash. Everything gets turned upside down. A few things get lost. Other things come out looking completely different.

Eventually, the cycle stops.

And you realize you’re still here.

Maybe a little worn.
Definitely different.
But here.

I don’t need everything back.
I don’t need everyone to understand.
And I certainly don’t need to have every answer today.

Some things simply need time to become what they are going to become.

So to everyone who has checked in, sat with me, laughed with me, given me some grace, or simply reminded me that there is still a whole lot of life left to live: thank you.

I’m OK.

Actually, I think I’m becoming more OK than I’ve been in a long time.

This year may have changed the road.

But it didn’t take the driver.

Why am I still doing local TV segments in 2026?

I’ve had quite a few people ask me this lately, especially with the segments I’ve been doing in Charlotte.

I don’t believe traditional media is the future of marketing. But I do believe there’s still value in it when you approach it differently.

The real opportunity isn’t necessarily the live audience watching that morning. It’s what you do with the content afterward.

Take a local TV appearance, turn it into social content, put some paid media behind it, incorporate influencers, and suddenly you’ve extended the life and reach of something that might otherwise disappear after four minutes on air.

It’s not about reinventing the wheel. It’s about rethinking how we use the tools we already have.

Most people know the story of how my family and I met Johnny Cash when I was just seven years old. That experience sparked a lifelong appreciation for his music, creativity, and larger-than-life personality. And I think it’s pretty obvious how much that influence has stuck with me over the years.

So having his son, Grammy Award-winning @johncartercash, as the very first musical artist to perform at my new venue, The Sanctuary, is pretty freaking epic! A full-circle moment I never could have imagined. 🙏

I’m beyond grateful to John and his manager, Trey, for working with me to bring this special evening to my friends in Greenville, SC.

We’re creating an intimate night of music, stories and behind-the-scenes memories, while also supporting a local nonprofit. @sundaydinnergvl!

Summer project complete ✅ …Excited to introduce @thesanctuarygvl …a new concept for community and private events in Greenville, South Carolina.

This is something I’m really proud of and have been working on throughout the summer. I’m thankful to continue finding ways to bring new life to this old mill and now share it with others for their own special events and moments.

We look forward to hosting everything from birthday parties and corporate holiday parties to live music, fundraisers and more.

A little last minute and a lot spontaneous, but Chicago turned out to be exactly the kind of trip I needed.

The food, the bars, the parks, the history, the coffee, the people, the river, the sights and all the unexpected side quests were pretty epic. It had been way too long since I’d spent real time in this city, and I’d forgotten just how incredible it is.

June was a turning point. 🪐

Not because everything suddenly became easy…but because I started feeling like myself again.

This month brought old friends, new friends, plenty of laughs, meaningful conversations and a reminder that community has a way of finding you when you need it most.
