To anyone visiting and staying in Tokyo, I HIGHLY recommend the Hotel New Otani in Akasaka near the imperial palace. The Japanese garden alone makes it worth it.

Spring sprang in the best way it can ❤️
This season this year did something to me for some reason. I’ve been the busiest I think Ive ever been in my adult life. Working my day job while putting more into my acting pursuits, making time for myself and the people that matter the most to me. As I age, and the people around me grow older, life feels clearer somehow. More intentional. I’ve learned to value and put effort only into the things I really want to be doing and revel in the good luck I’ve had in life. I remind myself that, though, I may not be exactly where I want in my career, it’s growing every day into something exciting, and even on days when it isn’t, in moments of rejection or failure, my life is pretty fucking exceptional.

Here’s to spring 🥂 now, on to summer 💛☀️ by @briannakellum

10 year old me was wrecked last night…ok no, 38 year old me was wrecked as well 😭 if you know me you know I have three loves in my life: Sailor Moon, 1999’s The Mummy, and Kyle (and he’s aware he’s 3rd billed. He gets it.) Last night was Fan Fest at Universal with Sailor Moon as one of the main titles featured and needless to say, I was in my element. Keelyn and I grew up on the show, bonded over it, both wrote fan fiction about it (iykyk) and would play the Sailor scouts for pretend while everyone else in our age group played house. She was always Sailor Jupiter and I was Sailor Moon, so when we got the mystery cupcake box and hers was Jupiter and mine was Sailor Moon, we of course, screamed like idiots lol it was a blast. I loved every moment of it 🩷🌙💚 taken in Universal Studios Hollywood by @briannakellum

Rainy Tokyo

My favorite place in Tokyo - Senso-Ji Temple. Followed by a new favorite area, Omoide Yokocho (memory lane).

Senso-Ji Temple, the oldest Buddhist temple in Tokyo, built in 645 AD, and my favorite place in the city. I’ve been dreaming of coming back here since we first came 8 years ago. The place is so spectacular and special. We really lucked out with the crummy rainy weather too because we had the place nearly to ourselves. Last time I was here it was so busy I could barely walk.

Same goes for Memory Lane. The rainy weather made for a perfect visit to an otherwise super packed tourist spot. The small izakaya’s packed down a nearly 100 year old commercial alleyway was something I wanted to see, but didn’t want to deal with the crowds in an already tight space…fortunately, the rain kept it nice and empty. We went to an Izakaya called Albatross which felt like you were transported back in time. It was an experience to remember for sure 🏮🥃
