When did things become so complicated? Where did I trade my child-like wonder for these calloused world-views? When did I begin to pay more attention to logic and reason rather than imagination?โฃ โฃ As I was cooking dinner tonight, my mind raced through all of my current worries and anxieties. Questions of my future, my health, and my finances all clouded my mind.โฃ โฃ Then, through the worrisome chatter, the lyrics of an Amanda Cook song broke through the noise:โฃ โฃ ๐“๐š๐ค๐ž ๐ฆ๐ž ๐›๐š๐œ๐ค ๐ญ๐จ ๐ฌ๐ข๐ฆ๐ฉ๐ฅ๐ž ๐ญ๐ก๐ข๐ง๐ ๐ฌโฃ ๐—ช๐ก๐ž๐ซ๐ž ๐ข๐ง๐ง๐จ๐œ๐ž๐ง๐œ๐ž ๐ฐ๐š๐ฌ ๐ž๐ฏ๐ž๐ซ๐ฒ๐ญ๐ก๐ข๐ง๐ โฃ ๐€๐ง๐ ๐ฅ๐ข๐ค๐ž ๐š ๐œ๐ก๐ข๐ฅ๐ ๐ฆ๐ฒ ๐ฌ๐จ๐ง๐  ๐ฐ๐จ๐ฎ๐ฅ๐ ๐›๐žโฃ ๐”๐ง๐ซ๐ž๐ก๐ž๐š๐ซ๐ฌ๐ž๐ ๐š๐ง๐ ๐ฐ๐ข๐ฅ๐ ๐š๐ง๐ ๐Ÿ๐ซ๐ž๐žโฃ โฃ I heard the Lord say, โ€œMy dear, things donโ€™t have to be so complicated.โ€ โฃ โฃ I began having flashbacks to me as a child, dancing through life, wild and free. Completely unaware and utterly unconcerned by the circumstances around me. My mind bounced from one dream to the next, thinking of what friend to call that day and what grand adventure we could scheme. โฃ โฃ Sometimes I think that we forget how simple life truly is. We were created by our loving Father. He knows us from the inside out and has promised to fulfill every one of our needs. We were placed on this earth to enjoy His creation and to walk hand-in-hand with Him every single day. No worries, no cares, no anxieties. Just Him.โฃ โฃ Oh, how beautifully simple life becomes when we return to our First Love. When we remind ourselves of His love for us and His constant Presence in our lives. โฃ โฃ We were never designed to figure this life out on our own. We donโ€™t need to carry the weight of the world on our shoulders. Oh, to simply abide in Him. To snuggle up next to our Father and just let Him love us.
I sat in front of the mirror on my bedroom floor this morning to braid my hair. At that moment, He met me. I saw an image in my mind of Him coming up behind me, smiling. He knelt down and gently grabbed my hair from my hands and began to braid my hair for me. I began to weep. He didnโ€™t say a single word but His eyes said it all. He is so worthy. He is so kind. He is everything I will ever need and so much more. He is my beginning and my end and everything in between. Steffany Gretzinger said in a recent message, โ€œThere is a place in love where you quit thinking about all the things you feel Heโ€™s called you to do and He becomes the dream.โ€ There is so much that He has placed on my heart. So many dreams and desires. Dreams that are good and that are from Him. But as I have told Him over and over again, if none of it ever happens, if all I have is taken from me and I am left with nothing but Him, I will still surely be the richest woman in the world. Nothing compares to Him, nothing even comes close. He is the dream. He is my all in all. My Father, my Lover, my Bridegroom, my Friend. Oh, Jesus, may we never get so caught up in the dreams on our hearts that we forget that You are the greatest dream of all. Bring us back to our First Love. To the sweet innocence and simplicity of just being with You. Envelop us in Your Presence and overtake every part of our hearts. We adore You. by @brianneerman
This Christmas was really hard for me. I was tempted to make a post stating what I was grateful for despite how difficult this year has been, but I wanted to be honest with you guys. I have discovered that it is possible to feel incredibly sad and incredibly grateful at the same time. I often feel that it has to be one or the other. I canโ€™t be incredibly burdened by how life currently is while also seeing the silver lining of blessings intertwined into the pain. But often that is how life is. A melting pot of mixed emotions and stark experiences. In most of my life, the blessings have significantly outweighed any pain I was facing. But for the last two years, the pain has seemed to outweigh the blessings. And thatโ€™s okay. Life is not always going to be the mountaintops or even the simple, easy mundane. Life sometimes sucks. Some seasons are incredibly difficult and thereโ€™s no getting around it. And while it is so important and healthy to find the silver linings and focus on the hidden blessings, Iโ€™ve learned thatโ€™s itโ€™s equally as important and healthy to acknowledge the pain and disappointment. Jesus is equally in the blessings as He is in the pain. And I have discovered a side of the Father that I have never experienced before as I have sat with Him in my despair. The moment when I had to leave the family Christmas party to run upstairs and cry with Him for a few minutes. When I woke up on Christmas morning and heard my family singing Christmas songs downstairs and I wept in my bed because I so badly wanted to feel the joy that they felt but just couldnโ€™t get beyond the pain I was feeling. Yet those moments have become some of my sweetest treasures as the Comforter met me in my sorrow. He wasnโ€™t in a rush to move me from the place I was in. He wept with me. He took on the pain I was feeling and sat with me in it. He then filled me with the hope and strength I needed to carry on another day. These are the moments for why He came. He just wanted to be close. This Christmas may not have been filled with joy or laughter but it was filled with Himโ€ฆ my Father, my Comforter, my forever Friend. Thank You for coming, Jesus, and thank You for staying. by @brianneerman

Iโ€™m not at all where I thought Iโ€™d be by 27. More often than not, I feel like Iโ€™m behind in life. I was so sure that I would be established in a career by now, married, have had kids. I thought Iโ€™d feel sure of who I am and what I am called to by now. But in all honesty, Iโ€™ve never felt more uncertain about my life than I do in this season. Ever since my health declined in 2021, itโ€™s felt like the last 5 years of my life have been spent simply surviving. And now that Iโ€™m coming up for air as my health gradually improves, I find myself looking around at my life, for what feels like the first time in years, and I hardly recognize any of it. I even look at myself in the mirror and feel like Iโ€™m meeting a whole new version of myself. This season feels both like starting from scratch and trying to catch up on what feels like lost time. As friends got married, graduated college, traveled, began their careers, and moved forward, it felt like I was standing still. Despite all of this though, I truthfully would not trade these last 5 years for anything. Through suffering, my definition of true success changed. I began to see that knowing God intimately genuinely is the most valuable treasure one could possess this side of eternity. One could have all the accolades, money, and approval of man in the world and yet come out on the other side of this life with nothing lasting. Suffering allowed me to experience and know God in ways I didnโ€™t know were possible. It stripped me of all other comforts and taught me to depend completely upon Him. He became everything to me. As I ponder what I have gained through this suffering, what I feel Iโ€™ve lost starts to seem far less significant. Iโ€™m beginning to understand what Paul meant in Philippians 3:8 when he stated, โ€œIndeed, I count everything as loss because of the surpassing worth of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord. For His sake I have suffered the loss of all things and count them as rubbish, in order that I may gain Christ.โ€ If what I lost caused me to gain more of Christ, was it truly a loss? ๐Ÿค by @brianneerman
While I was updating my friend this week on where my health has been at lately, I had the sudden realization that God has brought me ๐˜€๐—ผ far in this last year ๐Ÿฅน๐Ÿค As someone who firmly believes in the finished work of the Cross, knowing that Jesus has fully paid for my healing, I can often find myself focusing more on what is not โ€œrightโ€ yet rather than what He ๐—ต๐—ฎ๐˜€ made right! I was recounting to my friend this week about how even just a year and a half ago, I could not complete a workout at the gym. Even just the walk to the gym in my apartment complex left me feeling exhausted. And now I am doing fairly vigorous workouts 2-3 times a week! A year ago, there were so many foods I couldnโ€™t eat. I would get rashes or crazy indigestion from so many ordinary foods. And now my body is tolerating so much more and is properly absorbing the nutrients! There was a time I could barely take a shower on my own because I would feel so weak and dizzy. But now I go on daily walks with far less fatigue ๐Ÿฅน This conversation with my friend opened my eyes to just HOW much the Lord has done in these last few years, and wow, Iโ€™m just so grateful. ๐Ÿฅน It made my heart want to write out all the ways I have seen Him bless me in this season (hence this post!). ๐Ÿ’— My life and health are far from perfect but I have come to see that gratitude and praise are some of our biggest weapons against the enemy. Testimony is the spirit of prophecy! So when we praise God for what He has done, it proclaims to our own mountains and the mountains of those around us, โ€œDo it again, Lord!โ€ ๐Ÿ™Œ๐Ÿผ๐Ÿฉท Thank You, Jesus, for all You have done and for all that is to come! You are so incredibly faithful. ๐Ÿ˜ญ๐Ÿฅน๐Ÿค by @brianneerman
I had the most beautiful opportunity last year to live in Dallas for 4 months to be a part of a discipleship program through @braveheartministries ๐ŸคŽ It was the most precious gift from the Father to me in that season. I was in the middle of one of the most painful seasons of my life and this invitation felt like God gifting me the biggest bouquet of flowers. ๐Ÿ’ I met the most incredible people, fell even more in love with Jesus, and got to attend my favorite place on the planet ( @upperroomm ) for 4 whole months. Peter told us before we arrived to not be surprised if things come up in our hearts as we first get there. He said, โ€œItโ€™s hard to hide around a dinner table.โ€ And I experienced that firsthand! I had no idea how much pain, sorrow, and disappointment was still in my heart until I sat around a table with this amazing group of people week after week. I genuinely felt like the messiest version of myself those first two moths. But the way each person embraced me, loved me, and encouraged me in the midst of my messโ€ฆ it was like experiencing the love of the Father in tangible form. ๐ŸคŽ Those four months were such a gift to me. Iโ€™m so deeply grateful for Peter, Kristi, and the whole team at Braveheart. I literally cannot express just how thankful I am for the way each of you pour yourself out for the sake of the Body. You guys have taught me the fullness of the Gospel and have shown me how to drink deeply of what Christ purchased for me. Your ministry has been the source of so much maturity that I have experienced in the faith. The way that my heart is so tender toward the cross now and the understanding I have around what He did for me is the greatest gift of my life. ๐ŸคŽ that community of people was exactly what my heart needed in that season and I am so forever grateful! ๐Ÿฅน๐Ÿ’Œ๐Ÿซถ๐Ÿผ by @brianneerman

A couple weeks ago, I got the surprise of my ๐ฅ๐ข๐Ÿ๐ž. I have seriously never been more shocked and confused than I was on November 8th ๐Ÿ˜‚ Hereโ€™s the story: It was three days after my birthday and my sister still happened to be in town for the weekend. She asked if we could hang out on Saturday and do a โ€œsister date,โ€ which I of course said yes to. Our plan was to go on a hike and then grab dinner after. Nothing out of the ordinary. And again, my birthday was already celebrated three days ago and was โ€œdoneโ€ in my eyes, so there was no part of me that was expecting anything to happen that day. My sister told me we had to make a stop on the way to the hike because she found a mirror she loved on Facebook Marketplace that she wanted to get for her upcoming wedding. As we pulled up to this beautiful house, I randomly noticed that the address was โ€œ1105โ€ (which is my birthday: 11/05). So I pointed it out saying, โ€œHey, look! The house has my birthday as their address! ๐Ÿ˜‹โ€ My sister freaked out because she apparently actually never noticed that detail (which ended up being the sweetest God wink ๐Ÿ’) So we walk up to this house to grab the mirror, my sister rings the doorbell, and as she is fiddling with her wallet to get the cash, the door opens and I see the face of one of my best friends who lives on the other side of the state from meโ€ฆ and I am ๐ฌ๐จ ๐œ๐จ๐ง๐Ÿ๐ฎ๐ฌ๐ž๐. It felt like time stood still for a solid 15 seconds as my brain tried to make sense of what the heck was happening. My first thought was, โ€œHow does Erica know the mirror person??โ€ ๐Ÿ˜‚ Then I looked to her right and saw two of my other best friends who I ๐ง๐ž๐ฏ๐ž๐ซ get to see! I hadnโ€™t seen Talia in over a year and it had been ๐ญ๐ก๐ซ๐ž๐ž years since Iโ€™d seen Sierra in person ๐Ÿ˜ญ๐Ÿ’• I couldnโ€™t ๐›๐ž๐ฅ๐ข๐ž๐ฏ๐ž they were there, like what in the world is happening?! (you can swipe to see my raw reaction ๐Ÿ˜‚) Apparently my sister pulled this whole thing offโ€ฆ ๐Ÿฅน๐Ÿ’ She had rented out that beautiful house for us to stay in, flew in three of my very best friends, and made ๐ญ๐ก๐ž most special birthday for me that I will literally remember forever ๐Ÿ’– by @brianneerman
๐Ÿค In 2021, He met me as Sustainer. In 2022, He met me as Comforter. In 2023, He met me as King of Glory. In 2024, He met me as Husband. I have met a Man who can never be exhausted. I will be completely enveloped by one aspect of Himself and just as I am undone by one side of His face, He turns and there is yet another, somehow equally as beautiful as the former. I have found a Love that has satisfied every thirst in my soul. A Love that both intoxicates me and makes me weak in the knees. His eyes see into the deepest, most hidden parts of my soul and despite the hundreds of times I have looked away, I continually turn back only to realize that He has never broken His gaze. He has met me in the messiest, most broken places of my life, wrapping His whole self around me, washing me in, โ€œI love you, I love you, I love you.โ€ By the worldโ€™s standards, my life currently looks far from beautiful or successful. Many would look at these last 4 years of my life and see loss and despair. But from heavenโ€™s perspective, I have never been more successful than I am right now because I have Him. I have come to know Him in ways I didnโ€™t know were possible. So much has been stripped from me but that has made so much more space for Him to fill with Himself. I have never felt more broken and yet have never felt more fulfilled in my entire life. He has become everything to me. I have come to see that, truly, nothing else matters. If itโ€™s not by Him, through Him, for Him, unto Him, it is purposeless. My friends, true life is only found in Jesus Christ. And when you taste even a speck of it, your appetite is forever ruined for anything else. When you have tasted Him, You have tasted of the highest form of pleasure and satisfaction; something this world simply cannot offer you because it is only found in Him. For the last 4 years, I have seen Jesus. And in 2025 and every year after I will continue to seek His face because there is none more beautiful. by @brianneerman
I believe that the seedbed of this next revival will be the tears of Godโ€™s people. I feel heavenโ€™s honor over those who have walked through deep suffering in these last three years. Corey Russell said, โ€œTrue faith is living in the tension of, โ€˜God I know who You are but I donโ€™t understand why we are in this situation right now. But I refuse to leave the tension.โ€™โ€ I feel that heaven is using this place of prolonged pressure to bring the church from a place of plastic, religious prayer to deep, guttural prayer. Prayer that is accompanied by tears and a desperate need for Godโ€™s resurrection power. When we lock eyes with the God who weeps, our prayers become Godโ€™s very heart expressed through our groans. We begin to see that we are not praying to a cold, disconnected God but to a Father who aches for His people and weeps over their suffering. God has been collecting each one of your tears and placing them in a bottle. And I believe that God is loosening the caps of each of those bottles and is about to pour them out over the prayers of His children. The prayers sown in secret through the deep grief and pain of this last season. I believe that the tears of Godโ€™s people will be the very thing that bring about the greatest Kingdom harvest this world has ever seen. Those who have sown in tears are about to reap with true, authentic, deep, guttural joy. The death was unto a resurrection and within our tears is the very substance of this resurrection power. by @brianneerman
Iโ€™m learning more and more that what makes life beautiful is His presence. No matter what my circumstances are, His presence alone is what makes my life beautiful. As I loosen my grip and lean into my Beloved, I find beauty and a deep, unwavering rest amidst even the most trying of circumstances. How freeing it is to know that I have a personal, living oasis to retreat to in all moments. That fear can no longer control my life because peace Himself is personally leading me and walks intimately with me. Iโ€™m learning to let go, to lean deeply into who He is in the present moment. Iโ€™m finding myself no longer aching so much for the future because I am so deeply content in Him. He has become my everything, my deepest satisfaction, my greatest treasure. And as I discover Him more, I find that Heโ€™s actually all my heart ever wanted. I thought what I longed for was found in other things but it turns out it is all found in Him. So Iโ€™m finding such joy in just being hereโ€ฆ with Him. I wake up every day just excited to sit with Him. Many times not a single word is exchanged but locking eyes with Him is more than a thousand words. A single glance is enough to bring me to my knees. One whisper from His heart fills my heart with a love that is too deep for words. Oh, Jesus, You are so beautiful. What a priceless treasure You are. What a gift it is to love You and to be so perfectly loved in return. ๐Ÿค by @brianneerman
