Small details. Had to strip all the corrosion off, so might as well clean up the areas from the original casting before it gets painted. Can’t wait to FINALLY get the crown vic crossmember under the truck.

Finally got back at it on a warm day and got the crossmember mostly cleaned and ground down the old steering mounts to mount the s550 steering mount up. Need another warm day for the acid etch before painting it black to match the truck frame.

Making progress on the crown vic crossmember. Stripped down, starting to clean up and get the front trimmed to mount the @rangeindustriesusa S550 steering rack mount. No trimming needed, but I wanted a smoother look(for an area nobody will ever see lol). I’ll get everything done but mount it all back in the crossmember until the crossmember is mounted to the truck

It’s not much, but at least 2 of the ball joints are replaced now. Decided to clean up the area on the Lowe control arm around the ball joint opening before pressing the new one in. Those @benchmarkabrasives Stripper discs are the absolute best thing I’ve used on my grinder. Cleaned the corroded aluminum and made it smooth and shiny in no time!

Been a bit, but finally getting to working on the truck again. Started stripping down the crown Vic subframe, fighting the corrosion and red loctite all the way. Cutoff wheel took care of the ball joints and tie rod ends that someone used red loctite on. Now just need to finish cleaning everything up, get the cerakote on, then put it all back together with new and upgraded parts.
Back to the carbon fiber fun after the start of the year…FINALLY. Feels nice to have a garage to work in again!

All polished up and ready for infusion, other than a few spots on the taillight bezels I missed. That’ll get sanded out with some ultra fine grit and polished. First polish done on these 5 molds. Hood lip trim and taillight bezels. Next week getting started in the infusion to get some parts done finally. Tried a couple new things for the mold making process for repairs that worked out.

Finally the last layer of ‘glass is down and curing. This mold will be needing a frame to due to length and how narrow it is. Last mold for the F100 hood lip trim. This piece has been a royal pain to build a mold for but it’s there finally. Even though my ‘67 didn’t come with the hood trim, I might end up with some!

No clear, no touch up, just fresh out of the mold. Really happy with how these forged carbon fiber F100 dash bezels came out. Now just need to make 3 more, then wait on the epoxy to arrive to cast the molds and the mold for the passenger side door handle. Hopefully getting these cleaned up and clear coated in the next week. Also need to finish one mold for hood trim before infusing all those parts. Things are finally looking up!!

Just making all the molds I can now while I was for infusion epoxy. Dash control bezels, hood trim, door handles, gauge cluster bezel, and then on to the glove box and ash tray doors. The weather is finally right, so trying to get as much done as I possibly can while I have the chance. Maybe by the end of the year I’ll have a climate controlled shop so I can actually work in the winter too. For now though it’s work, work, and more work.

Tiny details turned out good on this, now just to get the piston side of the mold poured on it and another bezel and press out some parts.
