Finally got around to making these balancing Freedom Birds again 🙂 Back in the 80s, I made hundreds of them, convinced I’d make a fortune — but I ended up giving most away to friends and family instead. They’ve since flown far and wide; I believe a few have even found their way to Australia and Canada. taken in Ennis Co.Clare by @briansmccarthy

It is with huge gratitude and joy that we announce the final tally of monies raised at the Garden Gathering for Gaza on Sunday the 3rd of August in Scarriff, Co. Clare .
A total of €5540 was raised .
The monies have been distributed directly to families in Gaza to buy food and water, which is very scarce and extremely expensive (where available)
We have been able to do this through contacts we have made in solidarity groups @peopleofclareagainstgenocide @eastclare4palestine @gazagobragh @nana_tina_and_the_wildlings @ahmedmiqdadpalestine @life_as_nolly @seewhatisee_noelle @mamol4 @rebnimhurchu , Fakhr Abu Awwed and @Cork -North Gaza Solidarity group.
We would like to thank the many poets who joined on the day and shared their many precious words with us @kerrinidochartaigh @Rita Anne Higgins @Moya Cannon @Eve Telford and so many more .
A special thanks to Jimmy Crowley and Eve Telford , @sbcr_scariffbayradio , @annedrumm.massage and Paul and @grahamroe33 and all who donated , baked , maned stalls and helped us with the event.
Huge thanks to all activists in Clare and across Ireland who continue to inspire .

We have heard our politicians express concern over and over again but we have seen no meaningful action from our government despite its obligations under international law.
Ahead of this year's general election tell your candidate you will only vote for those who will commit to:

1. Ending US Military use of Shannon Airport and protecting Triple Lock

2. Passing the Occupied Territories Bill

3. Ending All trade with Israel and pushing for a worldwide arms embargo

@johnfrancisflynnmusic with a ridiculously big set of cutlery I made twenty years ago for an Italian restaurant in Dublin that since closed down and kindly gave them back to me. They've been gathering dust in my shed until John spotted them last week. They're made out of an 8' x 4' x 3/4" sheet of MDF, originally coated with silver leaf but eventually got a coat of silver spray paint which has dulled over time. taken in Ennis, Ireland by @briansmccarthy

The people of County Clare join the people all over Ireland calling for an end to the Israeli genocide in Gaza.

We support the BDS campaign which calls for a boycott, divestment and sanctions against Israel.

An end to Israeli military occupation of Palestine.

We call on the Irish Government to fully support the Palestinian struggle for freedom.

Please feel free to share widely.
