After months and months of no posts, the SuperSong is back! Today’s SuperSong is “Notorious” from Duran Duran. It’s hard to believe that this song only spent five weeks in the Top 40 singles chart and only reached number 7 in the chart of 8 November 1986. From the Parliphone album “Notorious”.

For today’s SuperSong, there could only be one…. “The Best” reached number 5 in the Official UK Top 40 back in September 1989, one of 35 UK Top 40 hits and one of 11 UK Top 10 hits. It was lifted from Tina’s magnificent EMI Capitol album “Foreign Affair”. Tina, you’ll always be (Simply) The Best!

I’m shocked and deeply saddened to learn that Tina Turner has died. She overcame such adversity - including domestic violence - and became a true superstar. A true diva. Her star will always shine brightly. Your music has always brought joy into my life. Rest in peace, Tina.
