I write about horror movies and mostly post about stuff I see around my own house or clips of my off-key karaoke renditions.

POSTS STORIES REELS

The first site I ever wrote for didn't pay me to do so. "Writing is fun," the editor explained re: why it wasn't necessary to pay the people making the content that drove readers to the site that gave him his livelihood.

Anyway, he's not completely wrong. It's fun to an extent. But it's also hard, and can be kind of soul crushing when you work really hard on something only to watch it disappear instantly, especially nowadays when AI generated garbage gets thousands of clicks. Yes, I get paid now, but I'd trade those paychecks for knowing I did a good job and that anyone who would enjoy it didn't have to search too hard to find it.

So after 20 years of doing that, and even publishing a book that you'll never see just sitting on a shelf somewhere, seeing something I wrote (and even helped edit!) placed right there at a checkout stand at the same store I go to every week to buy food and toiletries is incredibly satisfying.

And I hope you'll excuse me for posting about it so much, but I can't guarantee it'll ever happen again, so I'm gonna soak it up!

Eternal thanks again to @mereborders and the rest of the @fangoria for trusting me. I hope seeing it next to the gum and batteries makes you as weirdly proud as it does me.

Carving my final pumpkin of the year. Unless Christmas pumpkins become a thing. by @brianwcollins

Tried to make the Elrod pumpkin this year. Eh. Considering it's never in focus, I ain't embarrassed.

Happy Halloween, everyone! by @brianwcollins

Will is about to find out the very stupid answer to what he asked when we watched the original: "Why is he after her?"

In a few days we will put our victims on the table, scalp them, gut them, give them faces, and shove a candle in their asses. And then we will decorate these pumpkins we picked out! by @brianwcollins
