This book was entertaining and spicy as fuck. I can normally keep a RBF while listening to unhinged books, but this one made me lose it. The plot was easy to follow, truthfully it was mostly smut.

The narrators did a good job.

I was gifted an ALC from @netgalley in exchange of an honest review. I want to give thanks to the author, NG and the publisher.

This review was hard to write because I want to discuss the entire book, but I don’t want to ruin the reading experience for anyone.

Smoke, Mirrors, and Misdemeanors by @enolamdouglas_author was such a wholesome beautiful story. The vibes of this book were whimsical and inspiring. This book had me wanting to start my own bakery, or at the very least eat some pastries.

The FMC, Cassia was strong willed, protective, and she truly fought for her children. She gave her all and sacrificed constantly for everyone’s benefit. The children of the orphanage were lovable, I specially loved how the guardian protected them. (IYKYK) Although, the MMC Ark is a demon, he is full of green flags. He was well balanced, not too dark not too soft.

Their love story was well paced, it didn’t fell rushed, it was written in a way that the reader was able to connect with them. Both, the banter and the spice were perfect. I highlighted so many quotes that had me smiling.

The found family trope was excellent, I was surprised by a few characters who I believed would never change, I got teary eyed over one of them. Their friends were truly amazing, I am hoping they all get their own books, because I want to read their stories as well.

Lil spoiler ahead.
I love that the main couple didn’t have the typical break up for a stupid reason and make up out of no where. Their story was meaningful and they both wanted the best for each other.
