Someone once asked which king he served
He thought for a moment, then shook his head
After all, no king could ever claim
every view he had seen along the road

從來沒有哪位國王能全部據為己有 by @brickkeep_chronicles

I was not born a believer in the Light
When I was young, I trusted only my own fists

The monk says everything has its season
Leaves and travelers alike

For a while, we follow the same path
Our shadows mingling
beneath unfamiliar trees

——————

The centaur lady didn’t mind letting him travel with her for a while
She didn’t plan on asking too much about where he came from, either
After all, a man who keeps his face covered all day
and carries a dagger at his waist
probably isn’t selling bread

——————

He doesn’t like leaving witnesses behind
Not because he’s afraid of being identified
he’s simply far too easy to describe

The druid has explained it to her many times already
the little thing isn’t venomous
and it doesn’t bite

The ancient dragons have long since stopped answering prayers
Yet whenever he closes his eyes
the dragon mark upon his chest still rises and falls with every breath

She came from a land between mountains and rivers
He came from a place no map had ever drawn
Fortunately, the road has never cared
whether travelers look the same
