I have been wanting to display all of my chrome plated LEGO elements in a cohesive MOC for many years now, but I could never think of a proper way to display the collection. As soon as I saw the product photos for this set, I knew immediately that this was going to be the proper way to display these stunning elements. The drawers are filled to the brim with official LEGO brand gold coins. Everything in the case is authentic, with the exception of a few custom plated genuine LEGO parts. I’ve been a fan of Jim Carrey my entire life. Likely beginning with Ace Ventura. I started brainstorming different ideas for a habitat that would align with this figure, and I ended up just photographing him in front of a pre-existing habitat. I feel like he fits right in with this one. πŸƒπŸ¦ŒπŸΉπŸƒπŸ¦ŒπŸΉπŸƒπŸ¦ŒπŸΉπŸƒπŸ¦ŒπŸΉπŸƒπŸ¦Œ β€œForest Folk’s Woodland Stronghold” 🦌I will be displaying my work at an upcoming event next weekend, so I decided to transfer this build of mine onto a proper β€œdisplay-ready” MILS base. The entire treehouse can spin on the base exposing the backside and interior of the build. I’ll take some video later to show functionality.I altered @lego Dreamzzz set no. #71461 to create this build. Complete with oscillating ballista, functional swing, moveable ladders/vines, and even some squirrels for good measure. 😏The three units are also removable, as I kept the entire tree modular like the original design. For this challenge I have applied the theme of Greek Mythology, which has appealed to me since childhood. Here is my depiction of what the temples of Poseidon may have looked like. However, upon completing the build I was so inspired by the overall aesthetic that I decided to break the set down into a pair of habitats. I tried something a bit different, and designed the two habitats with the intent to be displayed multiple ways. The habitats interlock both horizontally and/or vertically, or they can be displayed individually on their own. I even designed a simple pillar and a ladder to easily attach during construction of the vertical variation. Due to the lousy crop settings on instagram, I will be posting twice to properly show the multiple display options. Here is the second of two posts displaying the vertical display option.
