Hi, I’m Kate Bitler! A little more about me! I moved here when I was just 2 months old, so I think that earns me honorary native Texan status! I’m married, a proud mom to a toddler, and love helping people find their place in the community I’ve been fortunate to call home for so many years. In my down time, I enjoy building Lego sets! Welcome to Bricks by Kate, so glad you’re here! 👋🧱 I remember free building (I think that’s what it’s called) as a kid with my dad. I had 2 of the big tubs that were shaped like the squares. I found Lego again when I stumbled upon the fact they make botanical sets & received one for Christmas (granted it was on my list) and it’s taken off from there! I am an AFOL loves creating everything from iconic architecture and city skylines to botanical collections and unique display pieces. Brick building lets me slow down, focus and enjoy one brick at a time. taken in Dallas, Texas by @bricksbykate90

This FLEGO set is taking FOREVER. 😂
Between work, mom life, and everything else, my brain just hasn’t had much left for building lately.
And that’s okay. Some days you snap bricks together, some days you just leave the pieces scattered and come back when you have the energy (& the toddler isn’t playing grabby fingers). Hobbies don’t need deadlines. One brick at a time… eventually. 💛 taken in Plano, Texas by @bricksbykate90

I asked chat to make a cartoony Lego image based on what it knew about me. I love the nod to the @remax balloon! (It remembered I went to the local balloon festival- even though I only got to see the parachuters) Guess I need to talk about Trey more! Sorry honey! 🤫 taken in Plano, Texas by @bricksbykate90

TLDR: I pawmise the lab puppy’s just been slow.

I pawmise I’m working on the lab puppy—it’s just been slow going! Between having an almost 3 yo with grabby hands, evening Pilates (my days are too chaotic/up in the air to do it during the day), and getting home at almost 9, it’s hard to work on it at night. Thankfully—or not, depending on how you look at it—I only do Pilates M-Th. 😂

Since the toddler wants to “help,” I can really only build when she’s asleep. 😴 She’s never been one to put things in her mouth, THANKFULLY, but I’m still afraid of pieces going missing. It’s already hard enough finding the pieces for this set since there’s no organization… 😅

It’s actually looking like a face now! taken in Plano, Texas by @bricksbykate90

Made a little progress since last week- haven’t been feeling it at night to continue building this one… just waiting for the @chiefs game to be over so I can ask my hubby to help snap the bottom part together (definitely struggling) by @bricksbykate90

🎈 Plano Balloon Festival—but make it LEGO! 🧱❤️

I went to the Plano Balloon Festival for the first time and, naturally, had to see what some of my favorite moments would look like built entirely out of LEGO. 😂 From the colorful hot air balloons to the REMAX parachuters flying in with the Texas and American flags, I may officially need the Plano Balloon Festival LEGO set to become a real thing. taken in Plano Balloon Festival, Inc. by @bricksbykate90

Making way for all the fall decor 🍂🎃 which means some of my LEGO flowers sadly have to go into hibernation for a bit. 😭🌸 At least the pumpkins are making it hurt a little less! by @bricksbykate90

Slow going over here because apparently my nighttime brick building inspiration has clocked out early. 😂 Add in the fact that half the pieces are apparently vacationing in the wrong bags, and now my dining room table looks like a very beige 🧱 crime scene.

Guess my lens was really dirty bc my first pic came out like this! I circled the tan pieces hoping chat could lighten it up. Thankfully my brain had a moment of clarity & I thought to clean the lens by @bricksbykate90

Missed celebrating 450, but that doesn’t mean I can’t celebrate 460! 🎉 Technically, we’re already at 461—but 460 looked better in bricks. 💕 Thank you for following along with my builds! taken in Dallas, TX by @bricksbykate90
