Our first trip away together in two years 🤍

A few days in Denmark, WA, and a very welcome break from the renovation. The rain barely stopped, but neither did the coffee drinking or eating… so we made the most of it.

Lots of reading, resting, and time together, with no DIY jobs to tick off. Just what we needed.

Back to the reno now… but already thinking about the next trip away!

Whilst we finish off the cinema room/snug, we obviously thought we needed another project 😂

So… what do you do when you find an old hot tub on Marketplace for FREE?

Turn it into a waterfall feature for the pool, of course! 💦😂 What else would you use it for?!

This could either be genius or one of those ideas we seriously regret… but we’re committed now and if anyone can make it happen its my husband!

The front of the house has had a glow up 🏡✨

Looking back at the before photos, I can’t believe how much it’s changed!

We’ve still got a few finishing touches to do, but it already looks SO much better and finally feels much more like us 🤍

One of those renovations where each little change has made such a difference.

Swipe through to see the transformation 👉

Movie room progress 🎬🍿

The TV is in 🙌, Matt’s been making our curtain from scratch — literally cutting every single hole for the eyelets 😂 (and yes, I did help!)

We also scored this sofa on Marketplace for $600 — about £300 🇬🇧 — which I’m VERY happy with.

Gave it a proper clean with the @sharkhomeau StainStriker and honestly… it’s EPIC. The amount of dirt it pulled out 😳🙌

It’s finally starting to feel like an actual movie room!

Spring has officially arrived 🌿🌸

Don't think I'll ever get used to spring in September when I've spent 40 years used to it being Autumn in the UK!

The garden is finally starting to come back to life, and I’m loving seeing all the pops of colour.

We’ve been spending far more time outside lately — pottering in the garden, planting, tidying… and making multiple trips to Bunnings because apparently one trip is never enough 😂🌱

Still plenty we want to do...

Saturday morning at Port Coogee ☀️🌊

Still one of those moments where I think… we actually live here 🇦🇺

An early morning walk, blue skies our dog definitely one of my favourite things about our move from the UK to Perth.

**Office Update**

Love a freebie 🙌

We picked this unit up for absolutely nothing and all we did was spray paint the handles.

Such a simple change but I love how it looks.

Even more special are a couple of the things we’ve put on it. The decanters belonged to my Nan and Grandad, and the clock was my Great Grandad’s ❤️

The clock is very much a work in progress!

We’re trying to get a new face for it and hopefully get it working again, but I love that these little pieces of family history have made their way from England to our home in Australia 🇬🇧➡️🇦🇺

Some things you just can’t buy ❤️

On Livs 8th birthday, we had a Greatest Showman party for her.

Now, 8 years later, we are taking her to see @comealiveaus for a belated 16th present. Sooooo bloody excited!

A little weekend reno diary 🎬🤍

Breakfast first (obviously ☕️), a Bunnings trip with Della supervising from the basket 🐶… then home to carry on with the cinema room.

Matt was cutting and shaping the wall while I followed behind with the hoover attempting to keep the dust under control 😂

Slowly but surely, it's all starting to come together.

And naturally, I contributed the all-important ta-da at the end 🤣✨

We went to the Palmyra Markets and stopped by this incredible bakery stand.

The only problem was deciding what to get. 😂

So naturally, we ordered 8. 🫣🥐🍰

Absolutely no regrets — they were SO good! 🤤

So lovely to meet you @toristreats_perth — we’ll definitely be back! 🤍

Cinema room renovation update 🎬🍿

Matt took the coving down and discovered a little surprise…

Apparently, when the house was built, finishing the ceiling was optional. 😂

Why bother plastering all the way to the edge when you can just whack some coving over the gap and call it a day? 👌

Please tell me this isn’t a standard Australian building technique?! 🇦🇺😂

The cinema room renovation continues… and, as usual, one job has very quickly become five. 🤦‍♀️
