I remember one of the very first campaigns I was a part of as disabled model, finding out that the brand went on to cut any footage that my leg or stick were visible, so I can’t tell you the joy that it brings me to have been involved in a bridal campaign that not only included me and such a diverse and beautiful range of people, but celebrated my disability by putting me in a dress that really shows off my iconic zebra print leg. 🫡🫶🏼 And WOULD YOU LOOK AT THAT, there is so much beauty in difference. ❤️ we must remember that now, more than ever. It is our differences that make us wonderful x Lucy is a blonde, disabled, curvy woman with long hair and a zebra print orthotic leg. Before the “I do’s” say “I will” We’ll make sure she looks & feels amazing. Maid of honour’s- be part of the glam crew by helping us with these prep morning must haves! 1. Steaming dresses after hair & make up is a huge NO! Do it the night before and be smug about it. 2. Anyone receiving a hair service needs clean hair that has been blow dried the night before - do 2 shampoos & thank us later! 3. Your timeline is the key to calm - call times matter! 4. Gifts = emotion. If your bride has the potential to cry don’t wait until after the glam, otherwise it’s your MUA who will be in tears. 5. When it’s your brides turn for hair & make up - allow her to enjoy it. Give her this time to experience the moment. We are not just applying product- we are coaching her confidence. 6. Music matters. Create the playlist, bring a speaker and get connected. Set the vibe for the day. (Plus us creatives hate to work in silence) 7. Once we hand over the touch up kit - you’re in charge. Tear watch, lipgloss management & shine control 8. Many hands. One vision. 🤍 This wasn’t the reel I set out to create. I had a time-lapse in mind, but this little moment changed the plan. As hair and make-up artists, we’re just one part of a much bigger picture. Brides have so many wonderful suppliers working behind the scenes, each with their own timings, priorities and moving parts. Sometimes, the best thing we can do is step back, give another supplier the space they need, and let the moment happen. I love meeting new suppliers, and it’s always lovely to bump into familiar faces, too. Because ultimately, we’re all working towards the same thing: a happy couple, surrounded by people who genuinely care about making their day special. It’s never about one supplier shining brighter than another. Some bridesmaids just make the whole morning 🤍 These two were the perfect example of what a bride needs around her on her wedding morning — attentive, supportive, kind, helpful and completely there for their girl.
