Finishing up this colorful apartment with custom built-ins, saturated color, and bold pattern. Washington, DC I’m coming your way!

Please join me next Thursday, October 1 at the Washington Design Center Fall Market for an afternoon devoted to design, inspiration, and, of course, COLOR!

I’ll be speaking from 3:00-4:00 p.m. at the Schumacher Showroom sharing ideas from my new book, Bridget Beari Color Rules: A Guide to Choosing and Using Color at Home, including how to approach color with more confidence in interior design.

We’ll dive into some of my favorite rules and lessons I’ve learned as an interior designer, from understanding light and undertones to using art as your color muse and knowing when it’s okay to break the rules.

Mixing paint finishes within a room makes a distinctive, multifaceted statement that adds depth, dimension, and personal character. In this video, you’ll see how we used five different paint finishes to elevate the space with a sophisticated, custom design approach you can incorporate into your own home.

This primary bedroom features a pale gold high-gloss ceiling, taupe satin edging, and crisp white semi-gloss molding, along with metallic gold trim on the bookshelves contrasted against the flat finish turquoise shelving and backing.
