As I continue my path in arts leadership, I am excited to share that this year I have said yes to joining the 2026 100+ Latinos Ohio Must Know cohort, presented by @ammore.cle! This is a platform, which includes so many of the Latine leaders I admire in my community, built for visibility, professional growth, and civic engagement for leaders across the state.
And this year, that platform got a lot bigger! For the first time ever, the cohort is statewide, 106 leaders from 18 counties and 40 Ohio cities, spanning private industry, non-profits, the public sector, and entrepreneurship. More than a third hold a graduate degree. Nearly 60% are already on, or actively pursuing, a nonprofit board seat.
That's not a list of names. That's a bench of leadership Ohio didn't fully know it had. I'm honored to be counted in it, and I'm just getting started.

🌟Life Update! 🌟

Last month I started what I can only describe as a unicorn job as the Producer of the Latinx Theatre Commons 🦄❣️

Through this position I will get to work with Latinx theatre makers across the country to uplift Latinx theatre work and transform the American theatre field through programming and resources. Yes, this is a real job that exists and somehow found me!!(??)

Within my first 3 weeks, I was thrown right into the kind of work I've dreamt of as I joined in producing the LTC Carnaval of New Latinx Musicals in San Diego, which featured 4 new full-length musicals by talented Latine creative teams and casts. The serendipity is not lost on me as, exactly 10 years ago, I started my journey in studying Musical Theatre at Kent State! This is not where 2016 Bridgett would've imagined herself (especially not in my FYE future career paper, iykyk) but I think she would recognize that this is way cooler than anything she could've imagined.

These have been some of the hardest work weeks of my life (which is saying something because I've been known to work multiple jobs since I was 17 🤪) but past the exhaustion, I am overcome with joy and gratitude for God, my community, my mentors, and my family who have all seen my passion and led me here 💓 ok you now have a direct source to support Latinx theatre! No excuses people!! taken in San Diego, California by @bridgettm.thtr
