unfortunately, I do LOVE a SLOW, ANGST-FILLED BURN😭📚
Because why would I want them to fall in love quickly when they could spend 400 pages fighting their feelings instead? 😂

Give me the stolen glances.
The accidental touches.
The tension you could cut with a knife.
The “we absolutely should not do this” moments.
The almost kisses.
The denial.
The pining.
The emotional suffering.
The ONE BED that finally pushes them over the edge🫠

I want to spend the entire book wondering:
WHEN ARE THEY FINALLY GOING TO KISS?!

And when they finally do?
After all that buildup?
I AM UNWELL😭

Because apparently my toxic trait as a romance reader is that the longer you make me wait for the payoff, the more obsessed I become.

What an absolute treat it was to have @katie_hoskins_author in town to talk about her debut novel When the Party’s Over with @kylie.ladd at Readings Hawthorn! And it was also a treat to have the narrator of the audiobook in attendance and see her in action!

Category: Books that feel like a warm hug
Gold medal: Drawing Nudes While Making Other Plans

This young adult novel is just simply beautiful. Truly beautiful. I was listening to the audiobook and adored it so much I had to run out and grab a copy that I could keep on my bookcase!

I also had the absolute pleasure of appearing in a debate with the talented author behind the book @zoegaet at @riverinareadersfestival and she is an utter delight and I can’t wait to fangirl over everything she writes in the future.

Oh and the queen herself, Melina Marchetta, blurbed this book so you know, BIGGEST DEAL EVER!!!

What an absolute joy it was to head to @readingsbooks Hawthorn last night to attend @lindsaybartels_ Melbourne event for her memoir Imogen in Waiting.

Lindsay is pure sunshine and just one of the most supportive people you’ll ever meet so it was an honour to sit in that room and listen to her talk to @sarahelaviawrites 🩵
