🦋Looking beneath behavior. Creating lasting family change. Transformational parent coaching

POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED
I thought I’d re-introduce myself and share what parent coaching can actually look like for you. Every family comes to me for something different, but these are some of the places our work often takes us.

✨ BEHAVIOR + FAMILY DYNAMICS

Maybe you’re navigating big emotions, sibling conflict, pushback, separation anxiety, or behavior you can’t quite understand. We look beyond stopping the behavior and get curious about what’s underneath it, what your child needs, and what may need to shift within the family. We create sustainable change.

✨ MOTHERHOOD + IDENTITY

Sometimes what brings a mother to coaching isn’t her child at all. Motherhood can change our relationships, careers, priorities, confidence, and sense of self. I don’t think the goal is always to “find yourself again.” Sometimes it’s discovering who you’re becoming now and making room for her, too.

✨ DIVORCE + FAMILY TRANSITIONS

Divorce, separation, co-parenting, loss, or another major transition can leave us supporting our children while finding our own footing. We make space for both: what your child needs to feel secure and what you need as you create a new rhythm for your family.

✨ CHILD DEVELOPMENT

My background in child development is woven into everything I do. Development, temperament, executive functioning, sensory needs, and environment all matter. Instead of a generic parenting strategy, we work to understand the child in front of you and what makes sense for your family.

✨ FAMILY REGULATION + YOU

Regulation doesn’t live in one person. What’s happening with our children, within ourselves, and in the environment all affect one another. We look at your triggers, patterns, values, expectations, and what happens when everyone is overwhelmed.

Because sometimes we know what we want to do differently. The harder part is accessing it in the moment.

This is why I chose parent coaching. Sometimes behavior is where we start, but the work can become so much bigger than that.

I want to share a little more about the PCI certification, because it’s very different from a lot of other parent coaching certifications out there.

The Parent Coaching Institute was founded by Gloria DeGaetano, who has been leading this work for decades. She is truly the pioneer in parent coaching.

This certification is not something you casually complete. It’s often compared to a master’s-level program and is even recognized as such by some universities.

It took me a full year to complete, with over 100 practicum hours working with real families.

This is not a certification to be taken lightly.

I am incredibly proud of myself for doing this.

And I’ll say this honestly—if you are choosing a parent coach, or even just taking advice from someone online, the level of training and certification matters.

I know for myself, I do a lot of research into who I trust and learn from. My background in education (University of Florida) has always made that important to me. That’s part of why I chose to train under Gloria DeGaetano and the PCI instructors.

The depth of what I learned this past year is something I will carry with me for a lifetime.

When you work with me, you’re not just getting my background in child development.

You’re getting a PCI Certified Parent Coach®.
You’re getting the PCI framework.
You’re getting a way of creating change that actually lasts.

And that work is something I would genuinely love to share with you.

If this is something you’ve been looking for, you can book a free discovery call with me. I’d love to talk with you and tell you more about how this works. by @brightbeginningswithdanielle

Hi, I’m Danielle. I thought I’d reintroduce myself since there are so many new faces here. This one’s a little longer, so grab your coffee and take a minute to read through it.

This is my story. It’s also the lens I bring to parenting and the work I do with families.

I don’t believe in quick fixes or fear-based control. I believe in leadership, regulation, development, and building systems that actually support your whole family.

If this resonates, you’re in the right place. And if you’re ready to build differently, send me a DM “Coaching.” by @brightbeginningswithdanielle

One of the greatest things about parenting is the opportunity to get clear on your values and bring them into the way you parent. The more aligned I’ve become with my own values, the clearer I’ve become about what I want to nurture in my children and how I want them to experience me as their mom.

For me, I want them to have a voice, so I have to be willing to hear them, including when they disagree with me. I want them to trust themselves, so I have to give them room to make decisions without always stepping in with what I would do. I can hold boundaries and share my values while making room for their feelings, their preferences, and who they are becoming.

This is something I feel so strongly about because it’s easy to want these things for our children and then feel challenged by what they ask of us in everyday life. Hearing their opinions takes patience. Supporting their individuality means being open to choices we wouldn’t make ourselves. And sometimes we have to pause and ask whether we’re guiding them toward something that matters or toward what feels most comfortable to us.

I want my children to know they can be close to me without being just like me. That they can disappoint someone and still make a decision that’s right for them. That their worth doesn’t depend on being agreeable or making everyone happy.

This is at the heart of my work with parents, and if it’s something you want for your family, too, I’m glad you’re here. 🦋✨

I was paying so much attention to helping my kids through transitions that I wasn’t paying attention to what those moments were bringing up in me.

Getting everyone into the car. Leaving the playground. Turning off the TV.

Before anyone has even protested, I can already feel the anxiety. The tension rising in my body. My palms getting sweaty. This urgency that we need to move forward. Now. We had to go…

Suddenly, I’m thinking about where we need to be next, and I’m losing connection with the kids right in front of me.

And then someone tells us, “Try making it playful!”

But how am I supposed to be playful when my whole body is telling me to hurry up?

We have patterns around transitions, too. And sometimes we’re so used to them that we don’t stop to notice how we feel in these moments.

The timers, warnings, and choices can help. But they don’t always address what’s happening for us.

If you’re thinking, “How the hell am I supposed to be present when I just need to get us out the door?” I want to talk about that!

Because there can be room for connection, playfulness, AND getting where you need to go.

✨ I’m hosting Transitions Deconstructed, a complimentary webinar at the end of this month. We’ll explore what these moments bring up for us, what our kids may need to create new bridges and patterns for transitions, and how to approach transitions without connection feeling like another task.

Comment WAITLIST for webinar access. Free replay included, plus the option to get the accompanying guide and meditations. 🦋

Here’s what a lot of experts are missing. And honestly, I was too when I was giving parenting advice instead of asking parents what was actually going on with them.

When transitions play out the same way over and over, our kids can begin to expect that same struggle. (Neuroscience) A meltdown can become part of that pattern, though it’s not the only reason transitions are hard.

You can put an amazing tool in there, and guess what? Your kiddo still might melt down.

That’s why we build bridges to help our children through transitions. But you guys, it’s not just that.

When your kid is still melting down and you feel like you’ve done everything right, it is so frustrating. You’re practicing all the patience in the world, and meanwhile, something might be coming up inside you, too. Oh because you’re apart of this equation too!!

Maybe it’s the anxiety of needing to be somewhere on time. Maybe it’s feeling like you’re doing all this work and nothing is changing.

Is any of this sounding familiar?

This takes slowing down, noticing our own responses, and supporting our regulation alongside our kids’. This is hard and takes so much intention.

Comment WAITLIST to be the first to access a different approach to transitions.

If you’ve tried everything, the tips and tricks aren’t enough anymore, and this is speaking to you, you’re in the right place.

🦋Parents come to me and say, “I’ve tried all the guides, the tips, and the tricks. Please don’t tell me you’re gonna say what every other parenting expert says…just try this.”

And I feel their pain.❤️

The tools are great in theory, but when we go to apply them, it’s so hard.

So I’m here to ask you a deeper question: what comes up for you in those moments when you transition with your child?

If you’re tired of trying everything and wanna look a little deeper, comment WAITLIST below.

Because we’re not talking about work that stops with a tip or a trick. I’m talking about real, sustainable change.

If you’re new here, I’m Danielle, a mom of two and a PCI Certified Parent Coach®.

I became a coach because I was tired of telling parents what to do for their kids. I started noticing that sometimes the gap is within us. We know the tools, but we need support with what comes up for us when we try to use them. by @brightbeginningswithdanielle

And maybe you’re reading Kim’s story and thinking, “I feel stuck too.” You’re doing so much for your family, but you’d love to have someone you can talk it all through with. You want to be deeply seen by someone. Uncover parts of you, you know are hidden. You want Someone who takes the time to understand you and helps you figure out what makes sense for your life.

That’s what I love about this work. We get to talk about your kids, but we also get to talk about you. What you need. What matters to you. What you want life with your family to feel like.

You don’t have to have it all figured out before we talk. Come as you are, and we can start there.

✨I spent some time with my mom today, reminding her not to let the stress consume her because it’s just truly not who she is. She is this brilliant, beautiful, wild woman who truly loves to live life.

And then I had a moment today talking to my bestie where I said, damn, I also need this reminder. And I realized I think we all need this reminder every freaking day.

So this is a simple reminder: don’t let it consume you. Just continue to be your lovely, beautiful, best self, living life and being happy. Obviously life throws its punches. It’s okay. We have to get back up and celebrate the wins. Because life is worth living, my friends. And finding joy in it. 🦋✨ by @brightbeginningswithdanielle

🦋 I’m all about reducing screen time in my house, but I’m not a screen killer. 😂

Screens are tools, and our kids are going to use them. We have to teach them how, with limits, control, and connection…lol.

This is one way I approach screen reduction with my coaching clients. Here are a few ways we do it in my house:

✨1. Draw together with Osmo.
We use the Osmo drawing tool on the iPad together for five to ten minutes, tops. Then we put it away and keep drawing on our own. Such a fun tool for kids! Linked in my bio under Shop.🔗
✨2. Watch a science experiment, then try it.
Watch a parent-approved YouTube video of an age-appropriate science experiment on the TV. Then gather the materials and try it together!
✨3. Create videos to share with family.
Let your child make a silly skit, cooking show, or update for the grandparents. Then share it privately with invited family through an app like FamilyAlbum.
✨4. Make movies and shows a family ritual.
We love curling up on the couch together. Afterward, we talk about the characters, plot, favorite parts, what we thought would happen, and what we didn’t like. I help my kids understand anything that confused them. That’s an important part, too.
✨5. FaceTime instead of group chats.
Give your child an age-appropriate amount of time to chat with friends on FaceTime instead of a group chat. Our daughter is still young, so calls happen in a common area on our shared household device. Home phones are great, too!
✨6. Low-tech learning devices.
We use these sparingly. They still provide a lot of input and don’t replace in-person learning, but I prefer our low-tech learning pad over an iPad. Sit together, talk through the activities, and take turns. Linked in my bio under Shop.🔗
✨7. Take kid-friendly online classes together. Movement with Danny Go, yoga, cooking classes. Cooking is my favorite! We’ve even done mindfulness classes together. Participate together and let the screen guide the activity.

The point is to turn technology into connection, not isolation. We still have limits, but it can also be part of our family time. ✨

Save this for more connected screen time.🦋 by @brightbeginningswithdanielle

✨Parenting can get really noisy sometimes.

We talk to our friends. We read the books. We scroll through endless feeds of people telling us what to do.

And suddenly, we’re being pulled in so many different directions that it gets hard to hear ourselves.

What do I value? What are my strengths? What actually works for my family?

Then we lay our heads on the pillow at night and wonder why it’s still so hard. We’ve tried the scripts. We’ve followed the recommendations. We’re putting so much effort into getting this right.

But even a helpful strategy can be hard to sustain when it doesn’t fit who we are or the life we’re living.

That’s where I find so much value in parent coaching.

I bring my expertise, my understanding of child development, and research-informed practices. And you bring expertise, too.

You know your child in ways nobody else does. You bring your experiences, your values, and strengths we can uncover and build on together.

We look at your child’s personality, your personality, your parenting strengths, and what’s already working. Then we use all of that to build a system that supports your family in everyday life.

Something you can practice, adjust, and grow into. Something that helps you feel more confident in your own decisions.

Because every family is unique. The support you receive should make room for that.

If you’re ready for a change, let’s start with a conversation. Book a free 25-minute strategy call through the link in my bio. Let’s talk about what you want to feel different in your family. 🦋✨ by @brightbeginningswithdanielle
