I'm playing catchup a little for the Christmas illustration challenge.

The fourth prompt was The Christmas Bird. I drew a few birds in my sketchbook and then they all started helping to decorate the Christmas tree!

Watercolour and coloured pencil in my sketchbook.

I'm taking part in @jehane_ltd Christmas illustration challenge. #jehanestwelvedays2025

Today's prompt was Silver Stag.
#jehanestwelvedayssilverstag
This guy was feeling the chill and decided to snuggle up in his favourite knitwear. Coloured pencil on paper.

I'm having fun following along with the prompts but I still have to finish a few of the earlier ones.

Thank you to Jehane and her team of talented artists for hosting this challenge 🥰

It's raining cats and dogs out there so I'm going to stay in and draw some cats and dogs. I have a character for an illustration who needs a doggy friend, so i'm interviewing some hairy candudates. I had a sheet of pumpkins that I had doodled and coloured last year and I decided to make a mini halloween pumkin book. I used watercolour paper to make the book and a handmade paper on the cardboard book covers. Wayercolour, coloured pencil and markers. It was fast and fun. I only had time for the fast part and needed the fun part. Happy Halloween! I hope everyone has a spooktastic time. #halloween #halloween2025 #papercrafts #pumpkin #pumpkinseason #handmade #paperart #colouredpencil #bookart by @brightbluepencil

An illustration from my sketchbook. This is Maud, she's popped down to her garden to pick some flowers to fill a vase in her kitchen. The duck postmaster has just brought a letter to tell her that a visitor is coming. I wonder who it is? Maybe it's her sister, or an old school friend? For now Maud is in a flap and a tiz, she wasn't expecting anyone and the house is in no fit state for visitors. (They say you should write about what you know 😂). This illustration was mainly done with pen and ink and #derwentinktense pencils. The page has a few interactive elements that I am just finalising. #illustratorsoninstagram by @brightbluepencil

A little character I am working on. (#derwentinktense wet and dry) I think she has lots of stories to tell. #illustration #character #narrative #storytelling #coloured pencil #inkpencil #penandink by @brightbluepencil

Small pieces for a bigger illustration. Some days are just meant to be spent fiddling round with scraps of paper, paints and pencils. Then the stories evolve..... #illustration #storytelling by @brightbluepencil

The rest of my little back to school illustration in my sketchbook. It's still over 39 degrees at midday here but I am an autumn girl and I've definitely got autumn vibes going on. Sketch in pen and ink, coloured with #derwentinktense and a few random coloured pencils. I might have to expand the story of this little family.
