Dog spam. It’s been great to take a break for working at home, up to race hill for a walk with this one. In the sunshine no less! ☀️ We have met sooooooo many lovely Brighton dog owners. 🐶

Hats off to the incredibly talented @elsabeautyby for my lash lift and tint. I am not wearing any eye make-up whatsoever.

How have I only just discovered the complete convenience of this treatment. The lift lasted 6 weeks. And for a busy mum who likes a little of glam in her life, it meant I didn’t have to fuss over eye makeup.

Also as a contact lens wearer it’s a winner. As mascara can be the enemy of lenses.

Elsa is exceptionally talented. I’m not always in my comfort zone at the salon. But she makes every visit seamless.

He sits through my conf calls really patiently these days. Snoozing along to my dulcid tones droning along in marketing speak and tech. At 7 months he has already matured and mellowed from that fidgety, nervous puppy.

One of the best things about having a dog is the people you get chatting to on walks. Socialising is a big thing. And the dog owners of Brighton have had wise and kind things to share while I nervously deal with a puppy who loves to play with any dog he meets.

What do you love about being a dog owner in Brighton?

It’s been a long road but it feels like we’ve turned some sort of corner. Proud to have my first vaccine 👍🏻 The staff at the Brighton Centre were kind, professional and efficient.

Even saw someone I knew in the queue for a quick “wow, this is surreal” chat.

Being in the massive hall where I saw The Rollercoaster tour in 1991, Blur’s singles tour, my kid sing in the Xmas Choir and countless @brightonseo talks, it certainly felt bizarre. But this is where we are now. And we can just hope that safe mass events come back in style very soon.

Love the new plants from @jungleuphouseplants a wonderful local business. Such a reasonable price and they offer free, local, speedy delivery. Ordered on Monday. Delivered by Thursday. 🙌🏼

I am terrible at looking after plants. And usually opt for cacti. But I had fond memories of a Schleffera when I was a student. The spiky Dracaena marginata looked like low maintenance. So fingers crossed!

(in fact I may have given the umbrella plant too much love and overwatered, hence the curly leaves since being in my care but it’s still very healthy and strong 🤦🏻‍♀️).

We’re preparing healthier snacks than usual for #homeschool as part of the @bodyhappyfitness Family Fitness Bingo Challenge. 9 year old knocked this up herself. Amazing what a bit of Robux incentive can do. 🙌🏼

Sea swimming in the snow. Admirable. And I’m sure, invigorating. But definitely not for me 🤣

Covid Christmas was a chance to create our own family traditions. Dad did his key worker duty on day shift. So we ate in the evening. Homemade crackers with chocolates in. Walks in the local park. Hercule Poirot (Ustinov, obviously) with French blue cheese and wine. Lindor on the side. (You can the girl out of the EU but you certainly won’t take Europe out of the girl.) We opened our gifts on Zoom. So still managed some family joy. Despite not being able to hug them in person.

We hope you managed to find some joy in your day. Clearly not what we expected or hoped.

Wishing you hope and health in 2021.
