The place I couldn’t leave.

Literally, kept extending until I couldn’t anymore. It was secluded (which I usually prefer), intentional, and organic. The few people who made it out to this middle-of-nowhere hostel were either searching for the same kind of solace or shared the same type of crazy. I meshed with them the best so it was perfect for getting recs to plan my next steps (albeit “leave touristy Thailand,” and honestly I agreed, but I was already locked in).

I discovered Thai poppers (inhalers with herbs lol), laid low fighting an infection, ate real whole foods, did yoga, and spent a lot of time just sitting in nature or biking around. Exactly what my body needed and what my soul had wanted.

48 hrs in Bangkok

Not in a cheeky “went wild partying” way but more like “impulsively booked a flight to a new country/climate after vacationing Japan with zero plans or idea what I’m doing” kind of way. Just needed a reset.

I ended up getting sick while traveling :/ so I knew I had to leave this overwhelming city asap. I owe Bangkok another 48 hrs to actually do it right.

This round: saw some temples, big buddhas toes, several cats, ate a mango, survived my first moped ride (with luggage), horribly donged my first dong, then left.
