Created in Seattle, WA, ‘For The Girls’ started with a vision.

A vision where artists (especially women & women of color!!) can be unapologetically themselves, feel safe, learn how to protect themselves in the industry, and create badass art together.

This is an inclusive space that centers women’s empowerment, but all communities and identities are welcome.

The 2nd Annual RISE UP AGAINST Domestic Violence March returns to Seattle on October 24th, 2026 at 11AM.

Same place. Same time. Bigger purpose.

What began as a grassroots survivor-led movement continues.

We are calling on survivors, advocates, organizations, artists, healers, families, and community members to mark your calendars now and continue helping us build a stronger network of support, healing, accountability, and accessible resources within our communities.

As we move toward 2026, we will also be expanding and sharing our survivor-centered community resource list through our website and social platforms.

This movement belongs to the people.
And we are just getting started.

Indigenous Creatives Collective is a creative sanctuary dedicated to intertribal Indigenous artists of the Pacific Northwest.

Their mission is to enhance Indigenous well-being through art-making, community building, land stewardship, and equitable creative opportunities for personal and professional growth.

Every Friday they have an open house from 10am-2pm, welcoming the community to volunteer & explore the property.

This morning was extra special with a collage workshop led by Jo LeBeau!! 🎨🥹💗

I haven’t felt this safe in a creative space in so long!

The work we do is more than work. It is our purpose. 🫂💜

Every day, we pour into survivors, youth, and our community through our own lived experiences. We create spaces for healing while navigating our own healing journeys.

In April 2025, I met Danielle. She shared her vision of creating an annual domestic violence march in Seattle dedicated to survivors. My response was simple:

“We are planning this march. We are doing this.”

Since then we have worked tirelessly to birth this vision. That vision became RISE UP Against Domestic Violence, a survivor led movement rooted in healing, advocacy, and community care.

Today, I am also honored to share that Danielle has chosen a new name: Phoenix. 🐦‍🔥❤️‍🔥✨

The name reflects her journey, her resilience, and the powerful work she continues to do in our community.

As a survivor, advocate, single mother, community organizer, and leader, she has dedicated herself to creating safer spaces for survivors, youth, and families.

The Phoenix is rising!!! 🐦‍🔥

But even healers need healing.

Today, we are asking our community to pour back into us. We are raising $1,500 to support rest, restoration, and planning time so we can continue serving youth, women, survivors, and families.

These funds will help cover travel, lodging, meals, transportation, and dedicated space to recharge and build future free programming through @riseupagainstdv and @forthegirlspnw

This is not a luxury. It is a need.

On May 27th my best friend @kenshikilla saved me from losing my life in a river.

I’ve journaled a lot, processing all of the feelings and emotions. Somehow there isn’t enough paper for me to pour all of my gratitude into.

I’ve lived through experiences where I knew I was close to death.

But in that river, for the first time…

I decided that I didn’t want to die.
