Coconut came into our lives unexpectedly July 2023. He was discarded by his previous owners and left out in the elements to fend for himself. We adopted him with the intent of finding him a forever home, at the time he had no rescue backing and we didn’t want him to suffer anymore than he already had. When we brought him home, he immediately made himself at home and acclimated with our pack, it seemed as though he had always been with us, that’s why the past 2.5 years he was with us seems like we had a lifetime together. I am so happy we made the decision to keep him as he was such a happy-go-lucky dog. He was selfless, loving and such a good boy. I loved him equally as much as my other babies. We are devastated but at peace knowing he isn’t in pain anymore. I know that he held on and hid his pain selfishly, so that I could focus on our special needs boy, Barry, who passed away August 2025. When Barry passed, coconut was diagnosed with stage 3 kidney disease. We had been managing and doing everything possible to stabilize his kidneys through special diet, fluids. We tried everything but his little kidneys continued to decline. Coconut crossed the rainbow bridge in my arms peacefully on January 25, 2026 at 6:50 pm, 5-months after his big brother Barry. They are together now in heaven with my Ivy waiting for me until we reunite again. I love you coconut. Thank you for choosing me as your mom and allowing us to show you the true meaning of family and love.
