Spent the last 3 years pursuing higher education at Fordham University and my journey was certainly less than traditional. If you’ve known/followed me for years then you know I’ve lived many lives. I started at Buffalo State for fashion design, studied abroad in Siena, Italy, transferred to FIDM in Los Angeles and got my first degree in fashion design. After that I was working in luxury retail making good money at a young age and honestly didn’t really know what I wanted next for myself. I moved back to New York in 2021 and became a mom in 2022. When my son was only 4 weeks old I decided to go back to school. I was exhausted, sleep deprived, breastfeeding, pumping during classes under oversized jackets hoping nobody noticed lmao, and trying to adjust to being back in school after years away from it. There were so many moments where I doubted myself. Sitting in classes with kids younger than me with way better vocabulary was so intimidating at first and there were definitely times I felt behind or like everyone else was smarter than me. I really had to get comfortable being uncomfortable, asking questions, getting things wrong, and rebuilding confidence in myself academically. These last 3 years taught me so much about myself walking through this campus. Life not going how you planned doesn’t mean your story is over.
