Y’all, we did that!!
To close out BLACK AUGUST, Good Falls Only had the honor of helping out with this fundraiser-kickback for our Haitian and Cuban families who are in need of mutual aid.✊🏾🇨🇺🇭🇹
•
GFO understands how important it is to show up and show out for each other through this ongoing struggle against the imperialist white “supremacist” superstructure.
Every effort counts, and it’s easy to give into defeat, but these are the moments that we must keep curating because we can never be defeated when we move as a UNIT.
Thank you to Numa and CJ for opening y’all homes for this great cause.
•
We were able to raise $ for Haitian Women for Haitian Refugees of which 100% of the donations will be for Haitian folks who are having to deal with such an inhumane response for a sanctuary after the abrupt shutdown of TPS. Additionally, in collaboration with @tbbxinternational , toiletries and gently used clothing were gathered for folks in Cuba, who are in need of aid amidst the various drawbacks of the 50+ year sanctions against the Cuban people which had unfolded recently into an oil blockade, electrical blackouts, food shortages, etc.
•
Black August surely isn’t a traditional holiday, though it is a time of commemorance. It is a time to specifically honor the Black liberators who helped bring the collective closer to bringing the state to its knees. Black August is a time of refusal, refusing to forget the people that the state tries to disappear, to vilify, and attempt to erase. It is a time of refusing to look at our champions of the Haitian revolution, the Attica Rebellion, the elders and angels of the Black Liberation Army/Black Panthers as anything other than our heroes!
•
May the spirit of Black August continue to push us onward.
🇭🇹🇨🇺✊🏾👊🏾🦍🗽🌇

Happy BLACK AUGUST and power to the people, y’all. ✊🏾😤

Myself, Bri [LUHV] of Good Falls Only (GFO), along with some friends such as @greenkwizin, along with some comrades will be throwing a fundraiser/mutual aid event this Saturday! Which you can expect me and my fellow selectas to be spinning at!!
•
Currently, the state has abruptly shut down the Temporary Protected Status (TPS) of at least 300,000 Haitian refugees. This has already begun to work in their detriment, as deportations are being carried out at this very moment.
We will be collecting funds of which 100% will be dished out to the Haitian Women for Haitian Refugees organization for those affected by the shutdown.
•
Additionally, we are collecting clothes and toiletries that are in good/great/new condition on behalf of the Cuban people, who have been facing cruel sanctions for decades. This is in addition to the electrical outtages, oil shortage, and food blockades that have been leaving so many in need of aid. We are working with Take Back the Bronx International @tbbxinternational who will then be giving out the items we collect, directly to Cuban folks who are in need of them.
•
Unfortunately, this event is at capacity, but we will still be collecting donations for both organizations. Kindly hit GFO in the DMs or @briluhv.selecta if you can’t make the event but would still like to donate.
Aaaand last but not least, Stay Tuned the night of event bc I will be streaming my mix live on ig for those of yall that wanna have a nice pregame vibe.
Our Haitian and Cuban families need us, this is for the people! ✊🏾
