We’re anything but jaded about this week’s read! 😉📚

Ela Lee's gripping debut novel follows Jade, a successful young lawyer whose carefully constructed life begins to unravel after she wakes up the morning following a work gala with no memory of how she got home. Caught between family expectations, a strained relationship and a workplace that expects her to stay silent, Jade must confront some difficult questions about her identity, her ambitions and what she’s willing to sacrifice to get ahead.

Exploring consent, race, sexism and the pressures of trying to have it all, this is a thought-provoking read that packs a powerful punch.

Who remembers school excursions to Organ Pipes National Park?

This months #ThrowbackThursday comes from the deep achieves of the Public Record Office Victoria, showcasing historical slide photos of the Organ Pipes National Park and their tessellated volcanic formations.

Impressive basalt columns that resemble organ pipes were formed about a million years ago when huge quantities of molten lava were ejected from volcanoes near what is now Sunbury and flowed over the Keilor Plains.

Love local history? Drop in and chat to the volunteers from Sunshine and District Historical Society every Wednesday 2-4pm at Sunshine Library.

What do you get when you mix 80s & 90s rave music, bubbles, lights, a room full of babies and parents and throw a bit of heads, shoulders, knees & toes into the mix? Our first Baby Rave!

The only tears shed was when the music end - pretty sure it was from our staff - we didn't want the fun to end!

A little book, a lot of Miriam this #BookfaceFriday! 📚😉

‘The Little Book of Miriam’ by @miriammargolyesofficial is a wonderfully candid collection of memories, opinions and stories from the actress’s extraordinary life and career. From Arnie to Dolly, ‘Blackadder’ to ‘Harry Potter’, Margolyes shares behind-the-scenes antics, daring declarations and her thoughts on everything from sex and fame to the indignities of ageing.

Packed with her trademark wit, wisdom and unfiltered honesty, it’s a deliciously dip-in-able read that’s every bit as unique and entertaining as Miriam herself.
