Good morning everyone. Something a little today but to me outdoors covers anything that gets you outside even if it’s in city - there are some amazing things to do and see in our cities - especially London.

It seems appropriate as I’m currently sat at York station waiting for my train to London… unfortunately it’s business rather than pleasure but hopefully I’ll get some time for a little wander this evening. It’s a fleeting trip and I head back home tomorrow. I’m not sure whether I still enjoy these business trips to the city… I’ve got rather accustomed to working from home and being able to wander round the countryside at home.

I love this shot though, that amazing contrast and splash of light and colour framing the business man who will be doing very important business things - awesome work Francesco!

Good afternoon BroS... that's Britain outdoors followers not the twins who sang "when will I be famous" - I can answer that though briefly in the early 90s... damn it I'm giving away my age again and I wanted you all to think I was some young hip influencer...

OK, shut up Mark... move along, how about this beauty by Joe? I've never really photographed the Peak District but maybe I should one day. What beautiful conditions to be stood gazing over. And that rather spectacular view is definitely something.

So after a day of drab overcast conditions where I have procrastinated over jobs I needed to do the sun has come out... which means I still have jobs to do and will run out of time to do fun stuff... Oh well there is always tomorrow?

Good morning everyone.... how are you all today? I'm excited as its Friday and I seem to have a relatively quiet day at work and I can start thinking about what to do at the weekend. The problem is how do I fit everything into 2 days, weekends are just too short... oh well they are there to be enjoyed so make sure you make the most of them.

Here is a shot to get you in the mood from my friend Liam (@liam_alford_photography)... well I say friend but I have never met him, just one of the many amazing people I have met on instagram. His photos from around Cornwall are just incredible. Also he's a bit of a surfer, I've never surfed but really want to one day. Also there is a rumour flying around he has recently bought a yellow jacket, influencer ready! I'm waiting for the surfing shot wearing the yellow jacket, that's never been done and would be truly original.

Right I'm off to be distracted from work by thinking what I am going to do this weekend.

"Fog on the tyne"

...Ok well its Lindesfarne castle but we know what they sang!

Its about time we got @britiain_outdoors moving again so I thought I'd share a shot from a recent shot to Northumberland as a taster. Its a popular shot this but I thought I'd through the background out of focus and keep the focus on the metal ring. It was around sunset and after running towards the castle the sun dissappeared behind a bank of cloud not to bee seen again until the following morning.

If you want to grab a feature please tag #britain_outdoors and just to warn you the features will be 2-3 a week as starter - hopefully quality over quantity.

Good morning everyone.... who doesn't a bit of Vanilla Ice?

Ice axes, crampons and shorts - seems like the the perfect winter outfit. I don't own an ice axe but feel like I need one. I do have two actual axes (for chopping wood) but not one for ice. I think I need one.

How many of our followers have the full winter setup for hiking?

Stepping stones are very handy things. Firstly you cross rivers on them without getting wet. Secondly you can take pictures of them, that’s always fun to do. Thirdly they are fun to use, and also can be exciting with a level of jeopardy… will you fall in or not? I am pleased to report that @maddy_aspinall completed the course safely. Skills. ⁣⁣

⁣⁣Hey everyone! @hanupnorth here sharing this daring video by @maddy_aspinall at Dovedale in the Peak District. Another thing I like about stepping stones is the simplistic technology that hasn’t changed, probably for millennia. Other simple technology I like include gates, stiles and birthday cards that make a sound when you open them, with all but the latter being very photogenic too. ⁣⁣

⁣⁣I like the birthday cards because the computer inside them is apparently more powerful than that of the one found on the Apollo moon landing vessel of Neil Armstrong fame. I heard that on a podcast, it probably needs fact-checking. Would you go to the moon now if you knew that the vessel computer was from a noisy greeting card? Comment below if you would. I would. I bet I’d get some great pictures.⁣
