Today we celebrate one of my favorite people on this planet! Happy birthday my babe @sibongile 👑💗💎 learning and growing through life with you these last 5 years since I’ve been in LA has been a real treasure :) I found the first photo we ever took together when we accidentally matched colors on the red carpet lol. Real Asian shit right here, wearing a thrift store fake kimono that we dressed into the set 🤣 for our step and repeat photos 💁🏻‍♀️ my mom would be proud.

Upsidedown will premier at Tribeca this year! This was such a fun script about a family run Arab restaurant, the dynamic of immigrant parents and their first gen kids, and the drama of how (uncultured) critics can make or break a struggling family restaurant.
This shoot would not have been possible without @mingfen_c coming clutch to make our traditional Makloubeh dishes!

Big congrats to director @razanghalayini and producers @powderkegtv @kesila @ericafishman @amygeist_la and DP extraordinaire @mike_maliwanag

And my amazing art dept, thank you for being such baddies, it wasn't easy making bright orange walls work for us, but we did that!

The Breakthrough starring Greta Lee, @ben_sinclair and @slaysman premiered at SXSW this year. My tiny but mighty team of @danikramos and @nessers77 transformed a guest bedroom into a therapist’s office in one day! We removed closet doors, built, painted and installed a wall plug, and dressed the entire space to fit the vibe of a culturally appropriative doctor. I think we nailed it :)

Big thanks to director @username.dan.sinclair producers @bridget.moloney @katechamuris @valerierockhill and DP @robertnachman.dp for bringing me onto the team :)

2021.3
Probably created 20 new eye wrinkles from the amount of crying I did throughout the year, but hey, at least I’m starting to look my age!
Found real grey hairs on my head! Finally earned them!Joined the union FINALLY I’m an 800 Designer :)
Only drank a total of 8 times throughout the year. Sobriety helped me actually feel my emotions, navigate through them and truly accept them for what they had to teach me.
Started writing a memoir of sorts, a new way to utilize creativity by transforming my pain into tangible evidence of my existence. by @briteration
