This week, Dr. Sarah Finley’s SPAN 351 Exploring Identities and Dr. Mike Levin’s MUSC 303 History of Western Music joined forces to explore Spanish villancicos with English translations and Nawat influences — and our students ended up singing together! Such a joyful and inspiring experience! by @britishbridges

My experimental trip hop project British Bridges has been in collaboration with Empire State University’s Neuroscience department for the past year putting this event together. We will perform various experiments including: a performance while a subject is connected to an EEG that measures music’s effect on brainwaves live. We’ll also be taking EEG outputs of alpha and gamma waves and mapping them to MIDI to create music reflecting the brain’s response. There will also be a paneled discussion from neuroscientists, professors, and other cool people smarter than me. I am just excited to be a part of these experiments and hope to see some friends there as well. RSVP is required as seating is limited, so please reach out to me directly if interested. by @britishbridges
