For 2027 The British Shooting Show grows from a single main stage to three, with dedicated rifle and airgun stages hosting chat show-style interviews with famous faces. The main stage that drew packed audiences for Vinnie Jones, George Digweed, Richard Faulds and Nathan Hales returns, and on the Friday afternoon Mike Tindall, James Haskell and Alex Payne take it over. Backing the British Shooting Show from the very start.

Swarovski Optik was among the earliest brands to commit to the show, and Adam Randall of Swarovski Optik UK is clear about why it keeps coming back: the NEC in February is the first event on the calendar, so it is where the community gets its hands on the new optics first. In 2026 that meant the third generation Z6 and the rangefinding dS, on a 15m x 9m stand manned by six people. For 2027 the same footprint returns with the walk-in Mobile Experience unit alongside it.

The basement under a Torquay optics business is now an armoury with a 20-metre range.

Optics Warehouse, a fixture of the trade since 2007, has launched Air Rifle Warehouse, the Devon retailer's first move into airguns. Assistant director Lloyd Marshall says the venture follows its customers: a big proportion of the company's optics sales already goes into the air rifle market, and the launch line-up spans Weihrauch, Daystate, Brocock, BSA and FX, with a larger multi-lane range in the long-term plan.

He also explains why the British Shooting Show at the NEC is the biggest date in the company's calendar by some distance, and when Air Rifle Warehouse could earn a stand of its own.

How has the 2026 grouse season shaped up?

Early summer counts pointed to a stronger season, with brood averages of eight and nine recorded on some of the best-keepered moors across northern England and southern Scotland.

With the season now well underway, those early results offer a positive sign for estates, keepers and the wider rural trade.
