Ya’ll remember way-back-Wednesdays? Here’s mine of the week—if it counts only being last summer of a throwback 🤭🎨 I was out in the streets of #brooklyn New York working on @bianca4brooklyn ’s campaign for city council. I did these chalk murals and more smaller ones in the span of 2 days. It was challenging, it was painful, it was hot and sweaty, but it was also filled with support, cheering, water balloon wars, solidarity in provided snacks and water from our constituents and staff members (as they transported me across the district and gave me their yummy rations) and lots of beautiful satisfaction within completing each piece! Solidarity is us all working together! Hiring artists! Speaking openly and working towards instilling actual change! 💖 I’m voting for Bianca any time I see her name on a ballot. She’s a real (sweet, kind, intelligent, hilarious, earthy, soulful, caring) one⭐️how cool does it look as I’ve turned up the saturation on these pieces?? ❤️‍🔥 it was lighter colors irl than most of these pics are online, but on a perfectly overcast day with a better camera, and the sidewalk a bit wet, this is exactly what it would look like. Life is a continuous work in progress. I’m currently in a big shedding and re-directing season. Having to pause a lot of my sculptures for lack of energy/motivation and time to work on them while I do other important work. Hopefully the cycle interrupts soon and I will be able to find my next gallery that wants to do a year-long (or so) exhibit of my pieces. My real dream for them is for them to have their own permanent wing in a museum/community artist space. (Missing the Love Gallery moment) #daretopost @stanforcreators by @brittaafae

from the streets of nyc to the shores of la, I see art everywhere. ･｡ ☆∴｡ * ･ﾟ*｡★･･ *ﾟ｡ * ･the end of an era has once again rounded. I had to downsize my belongings, and I just couldn’t justify keeping this large of a painting piece with me in my tiny room (it would barely even fit lol). So, I’ve donated it to the streets of nyc. I know someone will make their own beautiful art piece with it. Yo sé este es difícil a veces, pero, the governments who seek to control us and keep us powerless win so long as we keep relying on them. The more than we can all come together and help each other out, and do so with a hopeful disposition, the more than our energy waves will multiple as they springboard off of each other and stack on top of themselves to form a temple of love. Let this little video of me lip syncing be a moment of reminder for the art and play we need to keep stronger than ever, to make sure we the people remain in control. First they attack the spirit. sheeesh there’s so much evolution in the creation of wearable art! Especially if you’re like me, and your vision is always shifting. Almost every version of each of my designs goes through its own evolution of shape and design. here’s a glimpse of some of my hand-sculpted clay earrings - and some of them made of fabric and other materials. hopefully my musings on my hope for this planet and all of my details for what I love about the world and what I am afraid will happen in time will be used for good and not for nefarious (always kinda nervy and a bit negative about ai usage). But programs like this really do make it feel like an advancement in human expression and healing! Combining the sacred magic with modern technology is pretty dope. happy international womens’ day (which is every day if you are a wombman and/or appreciate the divine creator beings in this world) Wombmen are the most powerful species, containing so many multitudes and facing so much bs from the world built on top of us. The strongest people I know are women. And I bet you can say the same (if your ego allows). This life is hard, but the love and the art and the magnitude of being a femme creator and destroyer do have its perks. I had an amazing day that can’t even be well-documented.
