He could possibly go home tomorrow! 🥹🤞 But today was the real magic. His two big sisters and big brother finally got to come into the hospital room and hold their little brother for the very first time. After watching him fight so hard in the NICU, seeing all four of them together like this makes every single tough day worth it.

The empty bassinet. The silent car ride home. The feeling of being torn in two—your body in one place, your heart in another. Leaving the hospital without your baby is a kind of heartbreak you can’t fully explain to anyone who hasn’t lived it. Walking out those doors feels completely wrong. Your hands literally ache from the emptiness. But sitting awake pumping in the dark every night has forced me to realize something. This experience is completely exhausting, but it’s changing me. Every time I listen to the alarms without losing my mind, and every time I choose to focus on hope instead of fear—I’m proving something. I’m proving to myself, and to my little one, that a mother’s love is louder than any machine and stronger than any distance. If you asked me months ago if I was strong enough to handle the NICU, I would have told you absolutely not. But you really don’t know the fire inside you until you have to watch your baby fight.
