Two sided layering piece that started as a thrifted pillow case <3 Outside of the green stars, the rest is all reclaimed fabric and the entire piece can be worn with both sides as the front or back! Any of these fabrics look familiar? :)

This was my first time adding grommets to anything and WOAH you’ve gotta have some hand strength.

A few months ago I was given the opportunity to complete a course on guiding students through writing a personal statement for college applications. Through the course, you have the option to write one yourself. I was completely blindsided by the deep introspective experience. Now, a few months in the future, I can’t help but think this piece was right on time as I embark on what working in personal styling might actually look like for me. Finding myself through fashion isn’t something that I happened upon, it started deep in my psyche through a lesson from my mom.

Quick snapshot into some of the steps it took to get to my gorgeous diva of a shelf!!! Not seen are the steps of cutting the wood, gluing them in an angle clamp, routing all of the edges, using the bandsaw & scroll saw to cut out the hearts, sanding everything to heaven and back and picking out paint.. all such a worth it learning curve 💙 by @brittgal_

My first shelf completely built from hand 💙

Being able to design a fixture in my own vision and then bring it to life with my own hands was an unbelievably rewarding process. On top of that, becoming comfortable on my own in the shop with all kinds of saws and tools has unlocked a new level of confidence and boldness. Thank you @masscollective!!!

Diva’s first cutting board 🍇

She got a bit mini after all the cuts. Most reactions I’ve gotten from friends went something like “oh it’s perfect as a little cheese or fruit board” so here she is in all her mini glory at breakfast this morning 💛

I finally allowed myself the time to sit down and really create with my sewing machine. 🪡

This layering piece was made from a 100% linen skirt an old coworker gave me that was a few sizes too big and hit just above my knees. I reconstructed it and added a corset from ribbon (zoom in to see the details where I sewed the ribbon together from the wrong side and turned it inside out to create a tube that I then enclosed and sewed shut). Each side of the apron has ribbon corset loops with a separate longer ribbon connecting the two sides with a bow (which can adjust how tight the apron fits).
